Setup and Initial Operation
1. Winding the Watch
Your Orient Bambino RN-AK0703E is an automatic mechanical watch, meaning it is powered by the motion of your wrist. It also supports hand-winding.
- Initial Winding: If the watch has stopped, gently rotate the crown clockwise approximately 30-40 times in its normal (pushed-in) position. This will provide enough power reserve to start the watch.
- Automatic Winding: Once started, wearing the watch for at least 8-10 hours a day will keep it wound. The rotor inside the watch moves with your wrist, winding the mainspring.

2. Setting the Time
- Pull the crown out to the second click position. The second hand will stop.
- Rotate the crown to set the hour and minute hands to the desired time. Ensure you differentiate between AM and PM when setting the date/day.
- Push the crown back into the normal position to start the watch.
3. Setting the Date and Day
- Pull the crown out to the first click position.
- Rotate the crown clockwise to adjust the date.
- Rotate the crown counter-clockwise to adjust the day.
- Important: Avoid setting the date and day between 9:00 PM and 3:00 AM, as this is when the watch's internal mechanisms are engaged in changing the date/day, and manual adjustment during this period can cause damage.
- Push the crown back into the normal position.

Operating Your Watch
Wearing the Watch
Wear the watch snugly on your wrist, but not so tight that it restricts circulation. A proper fit ensures consistent automatic winding and comfort.

Water Resistance
This watch has a water resistance rating of 3 meters (3 ATM). This means it is suitable for everyday use and can withstand splashes or brief immersion in water, such as hand washing or light rain. It is not suitable for swimming, showering, or diving. Always ensure the crown is fully pushed in before any contact with water.
Time Accuracy
Mechanical watches, including automatic movements, have a specified accuracy range. Your Orient Bambino RN-AK0703E has a time accuracy of +25 seconds to -15 seconds per day. This is considered normal for a mechanical timepiece and may vary based on wear patterns and environmental conditions.
Maintenance and Care
- Cleaning: Wipe the watch case and crystal regularly with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust and smudges. For the leather strap, avoid excessive moisture and clean with a specialized leather cleaner if necessary.
- Avoid Shocks: While durable, mechanical watches are sensitive to strong impacts. Avoid dropping the watch or subjecting it to severe shocks.
- Avoid Magnetic Fields: Strong magnetic fields can affect the accuracy of mechanical watches. Keep your watch away from magnets, speakers, and certain electronic devices.
- Temperature Extremes: Avoid exposing the watch to extreme temperatures, both hot and cold, as this can affect lubrication and accuracy.
- Periodic Servicing: For optimal performance and longevity, it is recommended to have your mechanical watch serviced by an authorized watchmaker every 3-5 years. This includes cleaning, lubrication, and adjustment of the movement.
Troubleshooting
Watch Has Stopped
If your watch has stopped, it likely needs to be wound. Hand-wind the watch by rotating the crown clockwise approximately 30-40 times in its normal position. If you wear the watch daily, ensure you are active enough for the automatic winding mechanism to function effectively.
Incorrect Time or Date/Day
Refer to the "Setting the Time" and "Setting the Date and Day" sections under Setup. Ensure you are pulling the crown to the correct click position and rotating it in the appropriate direction. Remember to avoid setting the date/day between 9:00 PM and 3:00 AM.
Water Inside the Watch
If you notice condensation or water droplets inside the watch crystal, immediately take the watch to an authorized service center. Do not attempt to open the watch yourself, as this can void the warranty and cause further damage.
Watch Running Too Fast or Too Slow
While some variation is normal for mechanical watches, if the deviation is significantly outside the specified accuracy range (+25 to -15 seconds per day), it may require adjustment. This should be performed by a qualified watchmaker.
