Setup
Battery Installation
The HANMATEK DT100 requires two AAA batteries (included). Follow these steps to install them:
- Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the device.
- Slide the cover downwards to open the compartment.
- Insert two AAA batteries, ensuring the correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
- Slide the battery cover back into place until it clicks securely.
Operating Instructions
Power On/Off
- To power on: Press the Power button (symbol: circle with vertical line).
- To power off: Press and hold the Power button for 3 seconds, or the device will automatically shut down after 150 seconds of inactivity.
Unit Conversion
To change the measurement unit (m/in/ft/ft+in):
- Press the Unit button (symbol: "Unit" text) repeatedly to cycle through the available units.

Measurement Modes
Press the Function button (symbol: square with four smaller squares inside) to select different measurement modes.

- Single Distance Measurement:
- Select the single distance mode.
- Point the laser at the target and press the Measure button (symbol: triangle pointing up). The distance will be displayed.
- Continuous Measurement (Tracking):
- Select continuous measurement mode.
- The device will continuously measure and display the current distance as you move it. This mode also shows maximum and minimum values.
- Area Measurement:
- Select area measurement mode.
- Measure the length, then the width. The device will automatically calculate and display the area.
- Volume Measurement:
- Select volume measurement mode.
- Measure the length, width, then height. The device will automatically calculate and display the volume.
- Pythagorean Theorem Measurement (Indirect Measurement):
- Select one of the Pythagorean modes (e.g., single Pythagorean for height).
- Follow the on-screen prompts to measure the required sides (hypotenuse, base). The device will calculate the unknown side.
Reference Point Adjustment
The DT100 allows you to set the measurement reference point from either the front or the back of the device.
- Press the Reference Point button (symbol: device icon with arrow) to toggle between front and back reference points. The current reference point is indicated on the display.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the device. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the device in water.
- Storage: Store the device in its protective pouch in a cool, dry place when not in use. Remove batteries if storing for extended periods to prevent leakage.
- Laser Safety: Do not stare directly into the laser beam. Avoid pointing the laser at people or animals. This is a Class 2 laser product.
