1. Product Overview
The CareSens N Blood Glucose Test Strips are designed for quantitative measurement of glucose in fresh capillary whole blood samples. These strips are intended for self-testing by individuals with diabetes and for use by healthcare professionals as an aid in monitoring the effectiveness of diabetes management.
Each test strip requires a small blood sample of 0.5 µL and provides results in 5 seconds. The strips utilize advanced technology to detect, analyze, and correct variables in each blood sample, ensuring reliable readings.

4. Maintenance and Storage
Test Strip Storage
- Store test strips in their original vial with the cap tightly closed.
- Keep the vial in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat. Do not refrigerate.
- Do not transfer test strips to any other container.
- Use test strips within the expiration date printed on the vial. Once the vial is opened, use the strips within the period specified in your meter's user manual (typically 3-6 months). Write the discard date on the vial when first opened.
Disposal
Dispose of used test strips and lancets in an appropriate sharps container to prevent accidental needle sticks or injury. Follow local regulations for proper disposal of medical waste.
5. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues during testing, refer to your meter's user manual for specific error codes and troubleshooting steps. Common issues related to test strips include:
- "ERROR!!" Message: This can occur if the blood sample is insufficient, the strip is not inserted correctly, or the strip is damaged or expired. Ensure you apply enough blood, the strip is fully inserted, and check the expiration date.
- Inaccurate Readings: This may be due to expired strips, improper storage, contamination, or incorrect testing technique. Always ensure strips are stored correctly and used within their validity period.
- Meter Not Turning On: Ensure the test strip is inserted correctly and the meter's batteries are functional.
If problems persist, contact CareSens customer service or your healthcare provider.
