4. Setup

Follow these steps to prepare your ash vacuum for use:

1. Unpack: Carefully remove all components from the packaging.
2. Install Filter: Open the main unit by unclipping the motor head from the collection tank. Ensure the HEPA filter is securely installed over the motor intake. Refer to Figure 4.1 for correct filter installation.
3. Attach Hose: Connect the flexible suction hose to the intake port on the collection tank. Ensure it is firmly attached.
4. Attach Nozzle: Insert the aluminum nozzle into the end of the flexible hose.
5. Close Unit: Securely clip the motor head back onto the collection tank.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Ash Collection

1. Verify Ash is Cold: Confirm that the ash to be vacuumed is completely cold. Wait at least 24-48 hours after a fire before attempting to clean.
2. Plug In: Connect the power cord to a suitable 220V power outlet.
3. Power On: Switch the vacuum on using the power button located on the motor head.
4. Vacuum Ash: Use the aluminum nozzle to vacuum the cold ash. Move the nozzle slowly over the ash to ensure thorough collection.
5. Power Off: Once cleaning is complete, switch off the vacuum and unplug it from the power outlet.

5.2 Blower Function

The ash vacuum also features a blower function to dislodge stubborn ash or clear small debris. To use the blower function, attach the flexible hose to the exhaust port on the motor head. Ensure the area is clear of loose debris before activating the blower.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your ash vacuum.

6.1 Emptying the Collection Tank

Empty the 20-liter collection tank regularly, especially when suction power decreases. To empty:

1. Unplug the vacuum from the power outlet.
2. Unclip and remove the motor head from the collection tank.
3. Carefully lift the tank and dispose of the collected ash in a suitable, non-combustible container.
4. Wipe the inside of the tank with a dry cloth if necessary.
5. Reattach the motor head securely.

6.2 Cleaning the HEPA Filter

The HEPA filter is crucial for effective ash collection and motor protection. Clean it after every few uses or when you notice a significant drop in suction.

1. Unplug the vacuum.
2. Remove the motor head and carefully detach the HEPA filter.
3. Gently tap the filter against a hard surface to dislodge accumulated ash. You can also use a soft brush or compressed air to clean the pleats.
4. Do not wash the HEPA filter with water unless specifically instructed by the manufacturer, as this can damage the filter material.
5. Reinstall the clean filter, ensuring it is properly seated before reattaching the motor head.
