The stylus (needle) is delicate and should be handled with care. A dirty stylus can degrade sound quality and damage records.

  • Do not use excessive force or brush from side to side.
  • Replace the stylus periodically (e.g., every 300-500 hours of playback) or if you notice a significant drop in sound quality.

5.2 Cleaning the Turntable Unit

  • Wipe the turntable cabinet with a soft, dry cloth.
  • Do not use harsh chemicals, waxes, or abrasive cleaners.
  • Keep the dust cover clean with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using alcohol or strong cleaning agents on the dust cover as they may cause hazing.

5.3 Record Care

  • Always handle records by their edges to avoid touching the grooves.
  • Store records vertically in their sleeves in a cool, dry place.
  • Clean records regularly with a dedicated record cleaning brush or solution to remove dust and static.
