Important Safety Information

Setup

Proper setup is crucial for safe and effective operation. Always ensure the router is unplugged before performing any setup procedures.

1. Installing Router Bits:

1. Unscrew the chuck (collet nut) from the router spindle.
2. Insert the desired router bit into the collet cone, ensuring it is fully seated.
3. Screw the chuck back onto the spindle and tighten securely with the provided wrenches.

2. Attaching Bases:

The router unit can be attached to either the fixed base or the plunge base depending on your application. Align the router unit with the chosen base and secure it using the locking mechanism. Ensure it is firmly seated and locked before operation.

3. Depth Adjustment:

Adjust the routing depth using the depth adjustment knob and depth scale. For precise operation, make small adjustments and test on a scrap piece of material.

Operating Instructions

1. Power and Speed Control:

Connect the router to a 120-volt power source. The 6.5 amp motor provides ample power. Use the speed control dial to adjust the RPM from 12,000 to 30,000, matching the speed to the material and bit type for optimal results.

Maintenance

• Cleaning: After each use, unplug the tool and clean off sawdust and debris from the motor housing and bases. Use a soft, dry cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
• Brush Inspection: Periodically check the carbon brushes for wear. Replace them when they are worn down to approximately 1/4 inch or if the motor performance decreases. Refer to the "Brush Holder Cap" in Figure 2 for location.
• Lubrication: Apply a drop of machine oil to the plunge base shafts occasionally to ensure smooth action.
