Operating Your Vacuum
Powering On/Off:
Press and hold the power trigger to operate the vacuum. Release the trigger to turn it off.
Suction Modes:
Your Dyson Cyclone V10 Animal features three power modes for different cleaning tasks:
- Mode 1 (Low): For lighter cleaning and longer run time (up to 60 minutes).
- Mode 2 (Medium): Balanced power for everyday cleaning.
- Max Mode (High): For intensive spot cleaning and ground-in dirt. This mode provides the strongest suction but reduces run time significantly.
To change modes, slide the power mode switch located on the top of the main body.
Using Attachments:
The Dyson Cyclone V10 Animal comes with several attachments for versatile cleaning:
- Motorbar™ cleaner head: Ideal for carpets and hard floors, automatically de-tangling hair.
- Combination tool: A two-in-one tool with a wide nozzle and brush for quick switching between cleaning and dusting tasks.
- Crevice Tool: Designed for precise cleaning around edges and narrow gaps.
- Dusting Brush: Soft bristles for gentle dusting of delicate surfaces.
- Hair screw tool: Conical, anti-tangle brush bar for picking up long hair and pet hair from pet beds and upholstery.
To attach a tool, simply push it onto the end of the wand or directly onto the main body until it clicks. To remove, press the red release button and pull the tool off.
Emptying the Clear Bin:
Empty the bin as soon as the dirt reaches the MAX level. To empty:
- Hold the vacuum with the bin pointing downwards over a trash can.
- Push the red lever on the side of the bin down firmly. The bin shroud will slide down, and the bin base will open, releasing the dirt.
- Close the bin base firmly until it clicks into place. Push the bin shroud back up until it clicks.
Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures your Dyson vacuum operates efficiently.
Washing the Filter:
The filter should be washed at least once a month, or more frequently if used heavily. A filter indicator light may illuminate if cleaning is required.
- Twist the filter counter-clockwise from the top of the main body and pull it off.
- Wash the filter under cold running water until the water runs clear. Squeeze and twist to remove excess water.
- Leave the filter to dry completely for at least 24 hours in a warm place with good airflow. Do not use a tumble dryer, microwave, or open flame.
- Once completely dry, reattach the filter by twisting it clockwise until it clicks into place.
Clearing Blockages:
If suction is reduced, check for blockages in the cleaner head, wand, or main body. Disconnect the vacuum from the charger before checking for blockages.
Cleaning the Brush Bar:
The Motorbar™ cleaner head is designed to automatically de-tangle hair. However, if necessary, you can remove the brush bar for cleaning. Refer to the specific instructions for your cleaner head type.
