3. Setup and Installation
3.1 Unpacking and Inspection
Carefully remove the safe from its packaging. Inspect the safe for any signs of damage during transit. Report any damage to your dealer immediately.
3.2 Battery Installation
The safe requires 4 AA batteries for operation. The battery compartment is typically located on the inside of the safe door. Ensure correct polarity when inserting batteries.
Important: If the supplied batteries are damaged or do not work, replace them with new, high-quality AA alkaline batteries.
3.3 Initial Opening (Using Emergency Key)
For the first time opening, or if batteries are depleted, use the emergency key:
- Locate the emergency keyhole, usually concealed behind a removable cover on the keypad panel.
- Insert the emergency key and turn it clockwise.
- While holding the key turned, rotate the five-spoke handle to open the safe door.
- Remove the key once the door is open. Store emergency keys in a secure location outside the safe.
3.4 Mounting the Safe (Optional)
The Ozone Fort Safe AB-66 is designed for freestanding or tabletop use, but can also be securely mounted to a wall or floor for added security. It comes with pre-drilled holes for easy installation.

Steps for Mounting:
- Choose a suitable location, preferably a discreet and secure spot.
- Mark the drilling points through the pre-drilled holes inside the safe onto the wall or floor.
- Drill holes using an appropriate drill bit for your wall/floor material.
- Align the safe with the drilled holes and secure it using the provided mounting hardware (bolts, washers).
- Ensure the safe is firmly attached and cannot be easily moved.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Setting User Password
With the safe door open:
- Press the "SET" button (usually located on the inside of the door).
- Enter your desired new user password (4-8 digits) on the keypad.
- Press the "#" or "ENTER" button to confirm. The LED screen will confirm successful setting.
4.2 Setting Master Password
The master password provides an additional layer of access and can override the user password. It is recommended to set a master password and keep it confidential.
- With the safe door open, press the "0" button twice, then press the "SET" button.
- Enter your desired new master password (4-8 digits).
- Press the "#" or "ENTER" button to confirm.
4.3 Registering Fingerprints
The safe can register up to 50 fingerprints. Ensure your finger is clean and dry.
- With the safe door open, press the "ENROLL" button (or similar, refer to specific button on your model).
- Place the finger you wish to register on the biometric scanner.
- Lift and place your finger multiple times (typically 3-5 times) until the LED screen indicates successful registration.
- Repeat for additional fingerprints.
4.4 Opening the Safe
You can open the safe using one of the following methods:
Using Password:
- Enter your user or master password on the keypad.
- Press the "#" or "ENTER" button.
- Within 5 seconds, rotate the five-spoke handle clockwise to open the door.
Using Fingerprint:
- Place your registered finger on the biometric scanner.
- If the fingerprint is recognized, the safe will unlock.
- Within 5 seconds, rotate the five-spoke handle clockwise to open the door.
Using Emergency Key:
Follow the steps outlined in Section 3.3.

4.5 Closing and Locking the Safe
To close and lock the safe:
- Close the safe door firmly.
- Rotate the five-spoke handle counter-clockwise until the bolts are fully extended and the door is securely locked.
- Verify the safe is locked by attempting to open the door without entering a code or using a fingerprint.
5. Maintenance
5.1 Battery Replacement
When the low battery indicator appears on the LED screen, or if the keypad becomes unresponsive, it's time to replace the batteries. Use 4 new AA alkaline batteries. Refer to Section 3.2 for installation steps.
5.2 Cleaning
Wipe the safe's exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish or electronic components. Keep the keypad and biometric scanner clean and dry for optimal performance.
5.3 General Care
- Do not store emergency keys inside the safe.
- Avoid exposing the safe to extreme temperatures or high humidity.
- Periodically check the mounting bolts (if installed) to ensure they are secure.
6. Troubleshooting
