Setup and Installation
Tools Required:
- Phillips Head Screwdriver
Door Preparation Requirements:
- Cross Borehole: 2-1/8 inches in diameter.
- Edge Borehole: 1 inch in diameter.
- Backset: 2-3/8 inches or 2-3/4 inches.
- Door Thickness: Between 1-3/8 inches and 1-3/4 inches.
- Ensure any existing hardware is removed.
Installation Steps:
- Determine Latch Orientation: Refer to the door template to ensure the latchbolt curve faces the correct direction.
- Install Latch: Slide the latch into the door, ensuring the horizontal rectangular hole is centered in the cross borehole. Secure with two wood screws.
- Install Strike Plate: Install the strike plate on the door frame using two wood screws.
- Position Exterior Keypad: Place the exterior keypad flush on the outside of the door, guiding the cable under the latch. Ensure the tailpiece is vertical with the arrow facing upward.
- Install Interior Mounting Bracket: Guide the cable through the hole in the mounting bracket. Ensure the bracket is flush and straight, then secure with two long through bolts. Do not overtighten.
- Connect Cable and Install Interior Lever: Attach the cable to the adapter on the interior side of the lock, ensuring ridges face outwards. Seat the cable under the cable hook. Mount the interior side of the lock onto the mounting plate, being careful not to pinch the cable. Ensure the thumb turn is horizontal. Secure with two small black screws.
- Insert Key-Free Cylinder: Insert the key-free cylinder into the opening on the keypad side, ensuring the bar faces the opposite direction of the latch.
- Attach Levers: Snap the interior and exterior levers into place. Push in the spring clips using the battery key or screwdriver as you slide the levers.
- Test Latchbolt: Rotate the lever from both sides to ensure proper function.
- Insert Smart Module (if applicable): If your model includes a Yale Smart Module, insert it into the slot above the battery compartment before inserting batteries. Ensure pins are on the bottom right corner.
- Insert Batteries: Insert four AA batteries into the battery compartment.
- Install Battery Cover: Secure the battery cover.
- Set Master Entry Code: Wake the keypad, press the gear icon, press '1', press the gear icon again, then enter a 4-8 digit master code and press the gear icon to complete.
