5.2 Measuring AC/DC Voltage

  1. Rotate the function selector to the "V~" (AC Voltage) or "V-" (DC Voltage) position.
  2. Connect the red test lead to the "VΩHz" terminal and the black test lead to the "COM" terminal.
  3. Connect the test probes to the circuit or component to be measured.
  4. Read the voltage value on the display. The display will show dual readings for AC/DC simultaneously.

5.3 Measuring AC/DC Current

  1. Rotate the function selector to the "A~" (AC Current) or "A-" (DC Current) position.
  2. Connect the red test lead to the "10A/250V" terminal (for currents up to 10A) or "mA/250V" terminal (for currents up to 600mA). Connect the black test lead to the "COM" terminal.
  3. Open the circuit and connect the multimeter in series with the load.
  4. Read the current value on the display.

5.4 Measuring Resistance

  1. Rotate the function selector to the "Ω" (Resistance) position.
  2. Connect the red test lead to the "VΩHz" terminal and the black test lead to the "COM" terminal.
  3. Connect the test probes across the component to be measured. Ensure the circuit is de-energized.
  4. Read the resistance value on the display.

5.5 Continuity Test

  1. Rotate the function selector to the continuity symbol position.
  2. Connect the red test lead to the "VΩHz" terminal and the black test lead to the "COM" terminal.
  3. Connect the test probes to the circuit or component.
  4. If the resistance is below approximately 50Ω, the buzzer will sound, indicating continuity.

5.6 Diode Test

  1. Rotate the function selector to the diode symbol position.
  2. Connect the red test lead to the "VΩHz" terminal and the black test lead to the "COM" terminal.
  3. Connect the red probe to the anode and the black probe to the cathode of the diode.
  4. Read the forward voltage drop on the display. Reverse the probes to check for open circuit (OL) indication.

5.7 Measuring Capacitance

  1. Rotate the function selector to the "CAP" (Capacitance) position.
  2. Connect the red test lead to the "VΩHz" terminal and the black test lead to the "COM" terminal.
  3. Connect the test probes across the capacitor. Ensure the capacitor is discharged before testing.
  4. Read the capacitance value on the display.

5.8 Measuring Frequency

  1. Rotate the function selector to the "Hz" (Frequency) position.
  2. Connect the red test lead to the "VΩHz" terminal and the black test lead to the "COM" terminal.
  3. Connect the test probes to the signal source.
  4. Read the frequency value on the display.

5.9 Measuring Temperature

  1. Rotate the function selector to the "°C/°F" (Temperature) position.
  2. Connect the K-type thermocouple to the "VΩHz" and "COM" terminals, observing polarity.
  3. Place the thermocouple tip on or in the object whose temperature is to be measured.
  4. Read the temperature value on the display.

  1. Rotate the function selector to the "NCV" position.
  2. Move the top of the multimeter close to the conductor being tested.
  3. The multimeter will emit an audible beep and the NCV indicator light will flash if AC voltage is detected.

5.11 LIVE Wire Detection

  1. Rotate the function selector to the "LIVE" position.
  2. Insert the red test probe into the socket or touch the conductor.
  3. The display will indicate "LIVE" and an audible alarm will sound if a live wire is detected.

5.12 Additional Functions

  • Data Hold (HOLD): Press the "HOLD" button to freeze the current reading on the display. Press again to release.
  • Maximum/Minimum Value (MAX/MIN): Press the "MAX/MIN" button to record the maximum or minimum measured value.
  • Backlight: Press the backlight button (often combined with another function button) to turn on/off the display backlight.
  • Auto Power Off: The multimeter will automatically power off after a period of inactivity to conserve battery life.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning

Wipe the multimeter casing with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Do not use abrasives or solvents.

6.2 Fuse Replacement

If the current measurement function fails, the fuse may need replacement. Refer to the specifications for the correct fuse type. Fuse replacement typically requires opening the back casing of the multimeter.

Warning: Disconnect all test leads and power off the multimeter before attempting fuse replacement.

6.3 Battery Replacement

When the low battery indicator appears on the display, replace the batteries as described in Section 4.1.

7. Troubleshooting

  • No display or faint display: Check battery installation and charge. Replace batteries if necessary.
  • Incorrect readings: Ensure correct function selection and proper test lead connection. Verify the circuit is de-energized for resistance and continuity tests.
  • No continuity beep: Check if the circuit resistance is above 50Ω. Ensure test leads are not damaged.
  • Current measurement not working: Check the fuse. Replace if blown.
