5. Setup
- Unpacking: Carefully remove all packaging materials from the kettle and its base.
- Initial Cleaning: Before first use, fill the kettle with clean water to the maximum fill line. Boil the water and then discard it. Repeat this process two to three times to remove any manufacturing residues.
- Placement: Place the power base on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface, away from the edge of the counter. Ensure the power cord is not dangling where it can be pulled or tripped over.
- Power Connection: Plug the power cord into a standard 120V AC electrical outlet.
6. Operating Instructions
- Filling the Kettle:
- Remove the lid by gently pulling it upwards.
- Fill the kettle with fresh, cold water. Do not fill below the minimum mark or above the maximum fill line (1.7 L / 1.06 qt) to prevent dry boiling or overflow.
- Replace the lid securely, ensuring it is properly seated.
- Placing on Power Base: Place the filled kettle firmly onto the power base.
- Boiling Water:
- Press the power switch located near the base of the handle to the "ON" position. An indicator light (if present) will illuminate.
- The kettle will begin to heat the water.
- Once the water has boiled, the kettle will automatically switch off (Auto-Off function), and the indicator light will extinguish.
- Serving: Carefully lift the kettle from its power base by the handle. The insulated base allows you to serve the kettle directly at the table. Pour the hot water slowly and carefully.
- Re-boiling: If the kettle has just boiled, allow a few moments for the internal thermostat to reset before attempting to re-boil.
7. Maintenance and Cleaning
Regular cleaning and maintenance will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your kettle.
- Before Cleaning: Always unplug the kettle from the power outlet and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
- Exterior Cleaning: Wipe the exterior of the kettle with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the surface.
- Interior Cleaning:
- The kettle's interior can be cleaned with a soft brush or sponge.
- Removable Spout Filter: The filter located in the spout can be removed for cleaning. Gently pull it out, rinse under running water, and brush away any deposits. Ensure it is dry before reinserting.
- Descaling: Over time, mineral deposits (limescale) may build up inside the kettle, especially in hard water areas.
- Fill the kettle with a mixture of one part white vinegar and two parts water.
- Bring the mixture to a boil and then let it stand for at least 30 minutes, or longer for heavy scale.
- Empty the kettle and rinse thoroughly with fresh water several times to remove any vinegar odor.
- Alternatively, use a commercial descaling solution designed for electric kettles, following the product's instructions.
- Storage: When not in use, store the kettle and its base in a clean, dry place.
