1. Introduction
The Acer KC242Y Hbi is a 23.8-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) monitor designed for both gaming and office use. It features AMD FreeSync technology, a 100Hz refresh rate, and a 1ms Visual Response Boost (VRB) for smooth and sharp visuals. The monitor also incorporates Acer VisionCare technology to reduce eye strain during prolonged use.

2. What's in the Box
Verify that all components are present in the package:

3. Setup
3.1. Stand Assembly
- Carefully remove the monitor and stand components from the packaging.
- Attach the stand neck to the monitor panel by aligning the tabs and pushing until it clicks into place.
- Secure the stand base to the stand neck using the captive screw located on the underside of the base. Tighten by hand or with a coin.

3.2. Connecting the Monitor
- Connect the power cord to the monitor's power input and then to a power outlet.
- Connect the HDMI cable from your computer's HDMI output to the monitor's HDMI input. Alternatively, use a VGA cable if your computer supports it.
- Power on your computer and the monitor. The monitor should automatically detect the input signal.

3.3. VESA Wall Mounting (Optional)
The monitor is VESA mounting compliant (100 x 100mm). To wall mount, remove the stand and attach a compatible VESA mount (sold separately) to the monitor's rear panel.

4. Operating the Monitor
4.1. Power On/Off
Press the power button located on the rear right side of the monitor to turn it on or off.
4.2. On-Screen Display (OSD) Menu
The OSD menu allows you to adjust various monitor settings. Use the joystick button on the rear right side to navigate the menu:
- Push the joystick: Enters the OSD menu or confirms a selection.
- Move joystick Up/Down: Navigates through menu options.
- Move joystick Left/Right: Adjusts values or moves between sub-menus.
Common settings include:
- Picture: Brightness, Contrast, Color Temperature.
- Color: Adjust color modes (Standard, Graphics, Movie, User).
- Audio: Volume control (if external speakers are connected via HDMI).
- Input: Select input source (HDMI, VGA).
- OSD: OSD timeout, language.
- System: Reset to factory defaults, information.

5.5. Ergonomic Tilt & Wide Viewing Angle
The monitor offers an ergonomic tilt range of -5° to 15°, allowing you to adjust the viewing angle for optimal comfort. A wide 178° (H/V) viewing angle ensures consistent color and clarity from various positions.

6. Maintenance
- Cleaning the Screen: Gently wipe the screen with a soft, lint-free cloth. For stubborn marks, use a monitor-specific cleaning solution applied to the cloth, not directly to the screen.
- Cleaning the Casing: Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the monitor casing. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Ventilation: Ensure the monitor's ventilation openings are not blocked to prevent overheating.
- Power Off: Always power off the monitor when not in use for extended periods.
7. Troubleshooting
- No Power: Ensure the power cord is securely connected to both the monitor and the power outlet. Check if the power outlet is functional.
- No Signal: Verify that the video cable (HDMI/VGA) is correctly connected to both the monitor and the computer. Ensure the correct input source is selected in the OSD menu.
- Flickering Screen: Check the video cable connection. Ensure your graphics card drivers are up to date. Enable AMD FreeSync in your graphics card settings if applicable.
