Strongway Industrial Pedestal Fan - Instruction Manual

Model: KSM-3076 (Item Model Number: 4742853)

1. Introduction

The Strongway 30-inch Industrial Pedestal Fan is designed for powerful air circulation in demanding environments such as garages and workshops. This fan features a direct drive, steel-cased 3-speed 3/8 HP 120V motor, delivering up to 6500 CFM for optimal cooling. Its robust construction includes high-temperature resettable thermal auto reset and durable bearings, ensuring reliable operation even in high temperatures. The non-corroding, aerodynamically balanced blades contribute to quiet performance. The fan head offers a 20-degree tilt, and a double-locking guard allows precise airflow direction. A stable 27.5-inch diameter steel base supports the fan, which adjusts up to 78 inches in height. It is equipped with a 3-conductor cord and its safety grill meets OSHA 1910.212 standards.

2. Important Safety Instructions

Read and understand all safety warnings and instructions before operating this fan. Failure to follow these instructions may result in electric shock, fire, or serious injury.

  • Electrical Safety: Always plug the fan into a grounded 120V AC outlet. Do not use with extension cords unless absolutely necessary and ensure the cord is rated for the fan's power requirements.
  • Placement: Position the fan on a stable, level surface to prevent tipping. Keep the fan away from water or damp environments.
  • Guard Safety: Never operate the fan without the safety grill properly installed. Ensure fingers or other objects do not pass through the grill while the fan is operating. The safety grill meets OSHA 1910.212 standards.
  • Maintenance: Disconnect the power cord before cleaning, servicing, or moving the fan.
  • Children and Pets: Keep children and pets away from the fan during operation.
  • Overheating Protection: The motor is equipped with a high-temperature resettable thermal auto reset. If the fan stops due to overheating, disconnect power, allow it to cool, and then reconnect.

4. Assembly

Follow these steps to assemble your Strongway Industrial Pedestal Fan. It is recommended to have a second person assist with assembly due to the fan's size and weight.

  1. Attach Pedestal Pole to Base: Secure the adjustable pedestal pole to the steel base using the provided bolts and nuts. Ensure all connections are tightened securely to prevent wobbling.
  2. Mount Fan Head Assembly: Carefully lift the fan head assembly and align it with the top of the pedestal pole. Secure the fan head to the pole using the designated mounting hardware and adjustment knobs. Ensure the double-locking guard is properly engaged.
  3. Adjust Height: Loosen the height adjustment knob on the pedestal pole, extend the pole to the desired height (up to 78 inches), and then firmly tighten the knob to lock it in place.
  4. Adjust Fan Head Tilt: The fan head can be tilted up to 20 degrees. Loosen the tilt adjustment knob located on the side of the fan head assembly, set the desired angle, and then tighten the knob to secure the position.
  5. Power Cord: Ensure the 3-conductor power cord is routed safely and not pinched or tangled.

    • OFF: Turns the fan off.
    • LOW: Provides a lower airflow setting.
    • HIGH: Provides maximum airflow (up to 6500 CFM).
  3. Adjust Airflow Direction: Adjust the fan head tilt as described in Section 4, step 4, to direct airflow where needed.
  4. Remote Control (if applicable): If your model includes a remote control, refer to its specific instructions for remote operation of power and speed settings.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your fan.

  • Cleaning: Disconnect the fan from the power source before cleaning. Use a soft, damp cloth to wipe down the exterior surfaces. For the fan blades and grill, use a vacuum cleaner with a brush attachment or a soft cloth to remove dust and debris. The blades are non-corroding for easier maintenance.
  • Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the fan in a cool, dry place, protected from dust and moisture.
  • Inspection: Periodically inspect the power cord for any damage. Check all fasteners and connections to ensure they remain tight.
