Setup Instructions
Follow these steps to set up your ATU-100 Antenna Tuner:
- Connect Equipment: Connect your radio, the ATU-100 Antenna Tuner, and your antenna in sequence. Ensure secure connections to the ANT (Antenna) and RFIN (Radio Frequency In) ports on the tuner.
- Initial Power Setting: For the first use, set the output power of your radio or power amplifier between 20-30W. Warning: High power tuning can potentially damage the antenna tuner.
- Radio Mode: Set your radio to FM mode.
- Frequency Band Selection: Select the desired antenna frequency band. While in FM mode, use 20-30W power and press the radio's PTT (Push-To-Talk) button. Observe the PWR (Power) and SWR (Standing Wave Ratio) readings on the ATU-100's display.

Operating Instructions
The ATU-100 features a single TUNE button for operation.
- ATU Button (TUNE) Usage:
- Short Press (less than 1 second): Resets the tuner to its initial state.
- Long Press (more than 1 second): Initiates the automatic tuning process.
- Tuning Process:
If the SWR displayed on the ATU-100 is greater than 2.0 during transmission, it indicates that your antenna is detuned and requires tuning. Press and hold the ATU TUNE button to begin the tuning process. Continuously observe the SWR value on the display.
If, after tuning, the SWR remains greater than 3.0, the antenna is severely detuned. In such cases, it is strongly recommended not to use power above 30W. Maintain transmit power below 30W to prevent damage.
If the tuning process successfully reduces the SWR to less than 2.0, the tuner is optimized, and you can safely use a maximum power of 100W for transmission.

Maintenance
The Walfront ATU-100 Automatic Antenna Tuner is designed for durability and requires minimal maintenance.
- Keep the device clean and free from dust. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning.
- Ensure all cable connections are secure and free from corrosion.
- Store the tuner in a dry environment when not in use.
No specific routine maintenance procedures are required beyond general care.
Troubleshooting
Refer to the following points if you encounter issues with your ATU-100:
- Insufficient Adjustment at Low Power: The tuner may not adjust sufficiently when operating below 5W. Avoid attempting to tune at power levels below 5W.
- High Power Tuning Caution: During the tuning process, it is strongly recommended that the maximum power does not exceed 30 watts. Once tuning is complete and SWR is optimized (below 2.0), the tuner can handle up to 100 watts for transmission. Exceeding 30W during tuning can lead to damage.
- Powering On Issues: The ATU-100 requires a 9-12V power supply to start. If you are using a power bank or a computer USB port, the voltage output may be too low (typically 5V) to power the ATU-100. Ensure you use an appropriate 9-12V power source.
- High SWR After Tuning: If the SWR remains above 3.0 after attempting to tune, the antenna is severely detuned. Consider inspecting your antenna system for faults or using a different antenna. Do not transmit above 30W in this condition.
