Setup Guide

1. Charging the Battery

Before first use, fully charge the radio's battery. Connect the charger base to a power outlet and place the radio (with battery attached) or the battery alone into the charging cradle. The indicator light will show charging status.

2. Attaching the Antenna and Belt Clip

Screw the antenna clockwise onto the connector at the top of the radio until secure. Attach the belt clip to the back of the radio using the provided screws.

3. Initial Power On and Configuration

Operating Instructions

1. Channel Selection

Use the rotary knob or the keypad to navigate through channels and zones. The display will show the current channel name and frequency.

2. Transmitting and Receiving

To transmit, press and hold the PTT (Push-To-Talk) button on the side of the radio or the Bluetooth PTT accessory. Speak clearly into the microphone. Release the PTT button to receive. Ensure you are on an appropriate frequency and have the necessary license to transmit.

3. Digital Mobile Radio (DMR) Operation

The AT-D878UVII Plus supports DMR Tier I and II. To operate in DMR mode, you will need to program talkgroups, color codes, and time slots using the programming software. The radio's 500,000 contact list allows for extensive DMR network access.
