Setup
1. Unpacking and Initial Placement
Carefully remove the dehumidifier from its packaging. It is recommended to allow the unit to stand upright for at least 24 hours after delivery before operation, especially if it was laid on its side during transit, to allow the refrigerant to settle.
Place the dehumidifier on a stable, level surface. Ensure there is adequate space around the unit for proper airflow (at least 12 inches from walls or other obstructions).
2. Attaching the Handle and Wheels
The Moiswell VP170 comes with a detachable handle and large wheels for enhanced portability. Attach the handle to the top of the unit using the provided screws and knobs. The large wheels and swivel casters are pre-installed for immediate use.

3. Connecting the Drain Hose
The dehumidifier features a built-in pump for continuous drainage. Connect the provided drain hose to the drainage outlet on the unit. Route the hose to a suitable drain point, such as a floor drain, sink, or utility tub. The pump can push water up to 16 feet vertically or horizontally, allowing for flexible placement without relying on gravity.

2. Powering On/Off
Press the Power button on the control panel to turn the dehumidifier on or off.
3. Setting Desired Humidity Level
Use the Up and Down arrow buttons to adjust the desired humidity level. The unit will automatically operate to maintain the set humidity within ±3% accuracy.
4. Timer Function
Press the Timer button to set an auto ON or auto OFF time, allowing for scheduled operation up to 24 hours.
5. Auto Defrost
The dehumidifier is equipped with an automatic defrost function. If frost builds up on the evaporator coils, the unit will temporarily stop dehumidifying and enter defrost mode until the frost is melted. This ensures efficient operation in cooler environments.
6. Manual Purge
Press the Purge button to manually activate the internal pump and drain any collected water. This can be useful for ensuring the drainage system is clear or for emptying the unit before moving it.
Maintenance
1. Cleaning the Air Filter
Regular cleaning of the air filter is crucial for maintaining the dehumidifier's efficiency and lifespan. The filter is washable and should be cleaned every few weeks, or more frequently depending on the operating environment.
- Turn off and unplug the dehumidifier.
- Locate the filter cover on the unit (usually on the side or back).
- Remove the filter cover and carefully slide out the air filter.
- Wash the filter with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and allow it to air dry completely before reinserting.
- Replace the dry filter and secure the filter cover.

2. Cleaning the Exterior
Wipe the exterior of the dehumidifier with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, as these can damage the finish.
3. Long-Term Storage
If storing the unit for an extended period, ensure it is clean and completely dry. Drain any remaining water from the internal pump by performing a manual purge. Store the unit in an upright position in a dry, dust-free environment.
Troubleshooting
Before contacting customer support, please review the following common issues and solutions:
- Dehumidifier Not Turning On:
- Check if the power cord is securely plugged into a working electrical outlet.
- Ensure the power button has been pressed.
- Verify that the circuit breaker has not tripped.
- No Water Collection / Low Dehumidification:
- Check if the desired humidity level is set too high (above the current room humidity).
- Ensure the air filter is clean and not obstructed.
- Verify that the room temperature is within the operating range (typically above 41°F / 5°C).
- Check for any obstructions in the air inlet or outlet.
- Unit is Leaking Water:
- Ensure the drain hose is securely connected and not kinked or blocked.
- Verify that the drain hose is properly routed to a drain point and not elevated above the unit's pump capacity.
- Unusual Noise:
- Check if the unit is placed on a level surface.
