2. Setup and Assembly

The COSTWAY Folding Shopping Cart is designed for easy assembly. Follow these steps to set up your cart:

  1. Unfold the Frame: Carefully unfold the main metal frame of the cart until it locks into its open position. Ensure all locking mechanisms are securely engaged.
  2. Attach the Wheels:
    • Identify the two larger rear wheels and the two smaller 360° swivel front wheels.
    • Attach the rear wheels to the designated axles at the back of the cart. Ensure they are firmly secured.
    • Attach the front swivel wheels to the front supports. These wheels are designed for easy rotation.

  3. Secure the Baskets: Ensure both the main large basket and the smaller rear basket are properly aligned and secured within the frame. The dense mesh base of the main basket should be flat and stable.
  4. Check Stability: Once assembled, gently push and pull the cart to ensure all components are stable and the wheels roll smoothly.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Unfolding and Folding the Cart

  • To Unfold: Hold the handle and pull the cart frame outwards until it fully extends and locks into place. Ensure the base of the main basket is flat.
  • To Fold: Locate the folding mechanism (usually a latch or lever near the base or side). Release the mechanism and gently push the sides of the cart inwards until it collapses into its compact form. Use the integrated hook to lock the cart in the folded position for secure storage.

3.2 Loading and Using the Cart

  • Main Basket: Use the large front basket (approximately 20" x 16" x 22") for bulkier items such as groceries, laundry, or parcels. The dense metal mesh base prevents smaller items from falling through. The cart has a weight limit of 330 lbs.
  • Rear Basket: The smaller rear basket (approximately 20" x 6" x 8.5") is ideal for personal items like handbags, small purchases, or delicate items you wish to keep separate.
  • Maneuvering: The 360° swivel front wheels provide excellent maneuverability, allowing the cart to turn easily in tight spaces. The large rear wheels ensure smooth rolling even on slightly uneven surfaces. The foam-wrapped handle offers a comfortable grip and absorbs shocks.

4. Maintenance

Proper maintenance will extend the life of your COSTWAY Folding Shopping Cart:

  • Cleaning: Wipe down the metal frame and baskets with a damp cloth and mild detergent as needed. Avoid abrasive cleaners that could damage the finish. Dry thoroughly after cleaning to prevent rust.
  • Wheel Care: Periodically check the wheels for any debris (hair, string, dirt) that might impede smooth rolling. Clean the wheel axles if necessary.
  • Storage: When not in use, fold the cart to its compact size (25" x 8" x 45" L x W x H) and store it in a dry place, away from extreme temperatures or direct sunlight. The folded cart fits snugly into room corners or car trunks.

5. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your shopping cart, refer to the following common troubleshooting tips:

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Wheels not rolling smoothly or getting stuck.
  • Debris (hair, lint, dirt) caught in axles.
  • Wheels are loose or damaged.
  • Using on rough or uneven surfaces not suitable for small wheels.
  • Inspect wheels and axles for debris and remove.
  • Ensure wheels are securely attached. If a wheel is damaged (e.g., plastic insert broken), contact customer support for replacement parts.
  • Be mindful of terrain; while rear wheels handle some roughness, front swivel wheels perform best on smooth surfaces.
Cart does not fold or unfold easily.
  • Folding mechanism is stiff or obstructed.
  • Frame components are misaligned.
  • Ensure no items are obstructing the folding path.
  • Apply gentle, even pressure when folding/unfolding. Do not force.
  • Check if any parts are bent or misaligned.
Cart feels unstable or wobbly.
  • Components not fully locked into place after unfolding.
  • Overloading the cart beyond its weight limit.
  • Damaged frame or wheel attachment points.
  • Verify all locking mechanisms are engaged when the cart is unfolded.
  • Ensure the load does not exceed the 330 lbs weight limit. Distribute weight evenly.
  • Inspect the frame and wheel connections for any damage.
