Introduction
This manual provides comprehensive instructions for the assembly, operation, and maintenance of your CAPHAUS 4-Tier Wire Shelving Unit. Please read this document carefully before beginning assembly or use to ensure proper setup and safe operation. Retain this manual for future reference.
Safety Information
- Weight Capacity: Do not exceed the maximum weight capacity of 1000 lbs (453.6 kg) for the entire unit. Each individual shelf has a maximum weight capacity of 250 lbs (113.4 kg) when weight is evenly distributed. Exceeding these limits can result in structural failure and injury.
- Assembly: Keep children and pets away from the assembly area. Small parts may pose a choking hazard.
- Stability: Ensure the shelving unit is placed on a flat, level, and stable surface. Adjust the leveling feet as necessary to prevent wobbling.
- Secure Fasteners: Verify that all parts are securely fastened before loading any items onto the shelves. Periodically check connections for tightness.
- Overloading: Avoid concentrating heavy items on a single section of a shelf. Distribute weight evenly across the entire shelf surface.
- Climbing: Do not climb on or allow children to climb on the shelving unit. This can cause the unit to tip over, leading to serious injury.

Setup and Assembly
Follow these steps to assemble your CAPHAUS wire shelving unit. It is recommended to assemble the unit in its intended location.
- Unpack and Inspect: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Verify that all parts listed in the 'Package Contents' section are present and free from damage.
- Attach Leveling Feet: Screw the four leveling feet into the threaded inserts at the bottom of the lower poles. Adjust them slightly to prepare for leveling the unit later.
- Connect Poles: Insert the four connectors into the top ends of the lower poles. Then, screw the upper poles onto these connectors, creating four full-length vertical poles. Place the plastic caps on the very top of the upper poles.
- Install First Shelf (Bottom): Determine the desired height for your bottom shelf. Snap two halves of a plastic clip together around each pole at the same groove level. Ensure the arrow on each clip points upwards. Slide the first wire shelf down over the poles until it rests securely on the plastic clips. The shelf collars should fit snugly over the clips.

- Install Remaining Shelves: Repeat step 4 for the remaining three shelves, placing plastic clips at your desired heights for each. Remember that shelves are adjustable in 1-inch increments.

- Level the Unit: Once all shelves are in place, gently rock the unit to check for stability. Adjust the leveling feet by rotating them clockwise or counter-clockwise until the unit is stable and level on your floor.
- Place Liners: Lay the clear plastic liners on top of each wire shelf. These liners provide a smooth, flat surface, preventing small items from falling through the wire grid.

Operating Instructions
- Adjusting Shelf Height: Each shelf can be adjusted in 1-inch increments. To change a shelf's height, first remove all items from that shelf. Then, carefully lift the shelf to detach it from the plastic clips. Reposition the plastic clips to the new desired groove level on all four poles, ensuring they are at the same height. Finally, lower the shelf back onto the clips until it is securely seated.
- Using Shelf Liners: The included clear plastic liners are designed to provide a solid surface on the wire shelves. Simply place them on top of the wire grid. This is particularly useful for storing small items, books, or anything that might otherwise fall through the wire spaces.
- Loading the Shelves: Always distribute weight evenly across the shelf surface. Avoid placing all heavy items in one corner or section. Do not exceed the maximum weight capacity per shelf (250 lbs) or for the entire unit (1000 lbs).
Maintenance
- Cleaning: To clean the shelving unit, wipe surfaces with a dry cloth. For more stubborn dirt, a damp cloth with mild soap can be used, followed by drying thoroughly. Avoid using abrasive cleaners, harsh chemicals, or scouring pads, as these can damage the finish.
- Regular Inspection: Periodically inspect the unit for any loose connections, damaged parts, or signs of wear. Ensure all plastic clips are securely holding the shelves.
- Environmental Conditions: While the unit is durable, prolonged exposure to extreme moisture or corrosive environments may affect its lifespan.
Troubleshooting
- Shelf is Wobbly:
Solution: Ensure all plastic clips are securely snapped into the pole grooves at the exact same height for each corner of a shelf. Verify that the leveling feet are properly adjusted to compensate for any unevenness in the floor. - Items Falling Through Wire Gaps:
Solution: Ensure the clear plastic liners are correctly placed on each shelf. These liners are designed to create a solid surface. - Difficulty Sliding Shelf onto Clips:
Solution: Double-check that the plastic clips are fully snapped together and seated correctly in the pole grooves. The tapered collars of the shelf should slide smoothly over the clips. If resistance is met, ensure the clips are not misaligned. - Unit Not Level:
Solution: Adjust the individual leveling feet at the bottom of each pole. Rotate them clockwise to lower a corner or counter-clockwise to raise it until the unit is stable and level.
