5. Setup and Installation
The Zogola Wall Safe is designed for installation between standard 16-inch on-center wall studs. Professional installation is recommended.
5.1 Site Selection
- Choose a location with 16-inch on-center wall studs.
- Ensure there are no electrical wires, plumbing, or other obstructions within the wall cavity at the chosen installation site. Use a stud finder and a non-contact voltage detector.
- Consider concealing the safe behind a framed artwork or mirror for added discretion.
5.2 Installation Steps
- Locate Studs: Use a stud finder to accurately locate the center of two adjacent wall studs that are 16 inches apart. Mark their positions.
- Measure and Cut Opening: Based on the safe's dimensions (17.72" H x 15.94" W), carefully measure and mark the opening on the drywall between the studs. Use a level to ensure the lines are straight. Cut the opening using a drywall saw.
- Insert Safe: Carefully slide the safe into the cut opening. The flanges of the safe should rest flush against the drywall. Ensure the safe is level and plumb.
- Secure Safe: Use the provided mounting hardware (expansion bolts/screws) to secure the safe to the wall studs through the pre-drilled holes on the sides of the safe. Tighten all screws firmly.
