3. Operating the Lens
3.1 Aperture Control
The lens features a dedicated aperture control ring, allowing for precise adjustment of the aperture. This ring provides tactile clicks at every third of an F-stop, offering a more positive and controlled feel compared to continuously smooth rings. This design helps prevent accidental aperture changes during shooting.
3.2 Focusing
The VILTROX PRO 75mm f/1.2 supports both autofocus (AF) and manual focus (MF). The large metallic manual focus ring turns smoothly, though the focus motor's response can be slightly jerky, a common characteristic with some Fuji lenses. The autofocus system is designed for precise and fast performance, capable of tracking fast-moving subjects and supporting eye-focus.
Note: The lens exhibits noticeable focus breathing, which may be a consideration for videographers. Autofocus in stills mode is generally silent and quick, but may take a moment to fully lock onto a focus point, potentially making fast or erratically moving subjects challenging.
3.3 Image Stabilization
This lens does not feature built-in image stabilization. For stabilized shots, rely on your camera's in-body image stabilization (IBIS) if available, or use a tripod.

4. Maintenance
4.1 Cleaning the Lens
To maintain optimal image quality, keep the lens elements clean. Use a soft, lint-free microfiber cloth specifically designed for optics. For stubborn smudges, a small amount of lens cleaning solution can be applied to the cloth (not directly to the lens). Avoid touching the glass surfaces with your fingers.
4.2 Weather Sealing
The VILTROX PRO 75mm f/1.2 lens features three-layer protection with weather-sealing, making it suitable for use in inclement conditions. While it offers enhanced protection against dust and moisture, it is not fully waterproof. Avoid prolonged exposure to heavy rain or submersion in water. Always wipe down the lens and camera body after exposure to moisture.

5. Troubleshooting
5.1 Autofocus Issues
- If autofocus is slow or inconsistent, ensure the lens firmware is up to date via the USB-C port.
- Check lighting conditions; very low light can affect AF performance.
- Ensure your camera's autofocus settings are appropriate for your subject (e.g., single-point AF for static subjects, continuous AF for moving subjects).
5.2 Lens Not Recognized by Camera
- Ensure the lens is securely mounted to the camera body. Remove and reattach the lens.
- Clean the electrical contacts on both the lens mount and the camera body with a clean, dry microfiber cloth.
- Check for available firmware updates for both the lens and your camera body.
