Setup: Setting Your Combination
The lock is preset to open at 0-0-0. To set your personal combination, follow these steps:

- Ensure the lock is set to the original combination (0-0-0) and the dials are aligned exactly with the indicator marks on the side.
- Pull up the shackle to open the lock.
- Rotate the shackle 90 degrees counter-clockwise. Press down the shackle firmly until the small hook on the bottom of the shackle enters the hole.
- While holding the shackle down, rotate it another 45 degrees counter-clockwise to hold it in place.
- Set your desired 3-digit combination by rotating the dials. Ensure the numbers are aligned with the indicator marks.
- Once your new combination is set, pull up the shackle to release it from the pressed-down position. Rotate the shackle back to its original closed position.
- Scramble the dials to lock the device. Your new combination is now set.
Note: When setting your own combination, please align the desired numbers exactly with the arrows or indicator marks.
Operating the Lock
To open the lock, rotate the dials to your set 3-digit combination and pull up the shackle. To close the lock, press the shackle down into the lock body and scramble the dials to secure it.
TSA Inspection Feature
These locks are TSA (Transportation Security Administration) approved. This means TSA screeners can open your luggage for inspection without damaging the lock, using a special key. After inspection, the TSA agent will re-lock your baggage. This feature allows for international travel through over 750 airports without concerns about lock damage during security checks.

Troubleshooting

Ensure the shackle is fully pressed down and rotated correctly during the combination setting process. If the shackle is not properly engaged in the setting mechanism, the combination will not set. Double-check that the numbers are precisely aligned with the indicator marks when setting.
Lock Not Opening with Correct Combination:
Verify that the numbers are perfectly aligned with the indicator marks. Sometimes, slight misalignment can prevent the lock from opening. If you have forgotten your combination, there is no master key for user-set combinations; the lock would need to be cut or replaced.
Dials are Stiff or Hard to Turn:
Clean any visible dirt or lint from around the dials. A small amount of dry lubricant (like graphite powder) can be applied to the dial mechanism to improve smoothness. Avoid using oil-based lubricants as they can attract more dirt.
