The kettle consists of the main body with a gooseneck spout and handle, and a detachable power base. The power base includes the nameplate with model information, the central electrode for power transfer, and a steam outlet for safety.
Setup
- Unpacking: Carefully remove all packaging materials and inspect the kettle for any damage. Retain packaging for future storage or transport.
- Initial Cleaning: Before first use, fill the kettle with clean water to the MAX line. Boil the water, then discard it. Repeat this process 2-3 times to remove any manufacturing residues. Wipe the exterior with a damp cloth.
- Placement: Place the power base on a dry, flat, stable, and heat-resistant surface away from the edge of the counter. Ensure the power cord is not dangling where it can be pulled or tripped over.
Operating Instructions
- Fill the Kettle: Remove the lid and fill the kettle with fresh, cold water. Do not fill above the 'MAX' fill line indicated inside the kettle. Overfilling may cause boiling water to overflow.
- Place on Power Base: Securely place the kettle onto its power base. Ensure it is properly seated.
- Power On: Plug the power cord into a standard 120V AC electrical outlet. Press the power switch located at the base of the handle downwards. The indicator light will illuminate, signaling that the kettle is heating.
- Boiling: The kettle will begin to heat the water. Once the water reaches a rolling boil, the kettle will automatically shut off, and the indicator light will extinguish.
- Pouring: Carefully lift the kettle from the base using the cool-touch handle. The gooseneck spout allows for controlled and precise pouring, ideal for pour-over coffee or delicate teas.
- Re-boiling: If the kettle has just boiled, allow a few moments for the internal thermostat to reset before attempting to re-boil.
Automatic Shut-Off Mechanism:

Cleaning and Maintenance
Regular cleaning and maintenance will prolong the life of your Mecity Electric Gooseneck Kettle.
- Always unplug the kettle from the power outlet and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
- Exterior Cleaning: Wipe the exterior of the kettle with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads, as they may scratch the finish.
- Interior Cleaning: The interior is made of stainless steel. For general cleaning, rinse with water. For stubborn stains or mineral deposits, use a soft brush or sponge with a mild dish soap.
- Descaling: Over time, mineral deposits (limescale) may build up inside the kettle, especially in hard water areas. To descale, fill the kettle with a mixture of 1 part white vinegar and 2 parts water. Let it soak for at least 30 minutes, or boil the mixture and let it stand for 15-20 minutes. Discard the mixture and rinse the kettle thoroughly several times with fresh water. Repeat if necessary.
- Do NOT immerse the kettle or its power base in water or any other liquid.
