4. Setup

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the humidor from its packaging. Retain packaging materials for future transport if needed.
  2. Placement: Place the humidor on a firm, level surface. Ensure there is adequate space (at least 5 inches) around the back and sides for proper ventilation. Avoid placing it near direct sunlight, heating vents, or other heat-generating appliances.
  3. Initial Cleaning: Before first use, wipe the interior and exterior with a clean, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners. Ensure the interior is completely dry before placing cigars inside.
  4. Power Connection: Plug the humidor into a grounded electrical outlet.
  5. Seasoning the Spanish Cedar: Spanish cedar needs to be seasoned to prevent it from drawing moisture from your cigars. Lightly wipe down the cedar shelves and drawers with distilled water using a clean sponge or cloth. Do not soak the wood. Allow it to air dry inside the humidor for 24-48 hours with the door closed. Repeat this process until the humidity stabilizes.
  6. Water Box Preparation: Fill the included water box with distilled water. Place it in the designated slot at the bottom of the humidor. This helps maintain humidity. Monitor the water level and refill as needed.

5. Operating Instructions

5.2 Humidity Adjustment

The humidor's humidity is primarily managed manually using the water box and is influenced by the internal temperature. The display shows the current relative humidity (RH%).

  • Ensure the water box is filled with distilled water.
  • Monitor the humidity level on the display. If humidity is too low, ensure the water box is full. If too high, you may need to temporarily remove the water box or use humidity packs (not included).
  • It is recommended to calibrate the humidity for the first use. Refer to the video below for guidance.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning

  • Exterior: Wipe the exterior surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. For glass, use a glass cleaner.
  • Interior: Periodically wipe the interior with a clean, damp cloth. Ensure no moisture accumulates.
  • Water Box: Clean the water box regularly to prevent mold or mildew growth. Use distilled water only.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or chemical agents as they may damage the humidor.

6.2 Spanish Cedar Wood Care

  • The Spanish cedar shelves and drawers help regulate humidity and deter pests.
  • Avoid getting the cedar wood excessively wet. If it appears dry, lightly re-season it as described in the Setup section.
  • The shelves are adjustable. To reposition, carefully lift and slide them out, then reinsert into the desired grooves.

7. Troubleshooting
