Setup
Initial Charging
Before first use, fully charge the jump starter. Connect the provided USB to Type C cable to the device and a compatible wall charger (not included). The LCD display will show 'IN' during charging and the battery percentage will increase. A full charge typically takes 4-4.5 hours.
Connecting Jumper Cables
Open the protective cap on the jump starter labeled 'Engine Start'. Insert the smart jumper cable's blue plug into the corresponding port on the jump starter. Ensure the plug is fully inserted and the green LED light on the smart clamp flashes, indicating it's ready.

This image illustrates the simple process of connecting the jump starter to a vehicle's battery. The red clamp connects to the positive terminal, and the black clamp connects to the negative terminal.
Operating Instructions
Jump Starting Your Vehicle
- Ensure the jump starter is fully charged.
- Connect the smart jumper cable to the jump starter unit. The green LED on the clamp should flash.
- Connect the red (+) clamp to the positive terminal of the vehicle's battery and the black (-) clamp to the negative terminal. The green LED on the clamp should turn solid, indicating a correct connection. If a red light or beeping occurs, check connections for reverse polarity.
- Start your car engine.
- Once the engine starts, immediately remove the jumper clamps from the car battery, then disconnect the smart jumper cable from the jump starter unit.

This visual guide simplifies the jump-starting process into three easy steps: connecting the cables to the jump starter, attaching the clamps to the car battery terminals, and then starting the vehicle's engine.
Maintenance
Charging the Unit
To maintain optimal battery life, it is recommended to fully charge the HPBS 4000A Jump Starter every 3-6 months, even if not in use. The unit can hold a charge for up to 24 months in standby mode.

The jump starter is designed for long-term standby, capable of retaining its charge for up to 24 months, though periodic recharging is recommended to ensure readiness.
