1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing the Moimhear Upholstered Hydraulic Storage Bed. This manual provides essential information for the safe assembly, operation, and maintenance of your new bed. Please read these instructions carefully before beginning assembly and retain them for future reference.

Important Safety Information

  • Ensure all components are present and undamaged before assembly. Do not use if any parts are missing or broken.
  • Assembly should be performed by at least two adults to prevent injury.
  • Keep small parts away from children during assembly to avoid choking hazards.
  • Always use the bed on a flat, stable surface.
  • Do not allow children to play on or around the hydraulic lift mechanism.
  • When lifting or lowering the bed frame for storage access, ensure hands and fingers are clear of pinch points.
  • Do not overload the storage compartment. Refer to specifications for weight limits.

2. Parts List

3. Setup and Assembly

Follow these steps carefully for proper assembly. It is recommended to have two people for this process.

  1. Unpack and Identify: Lay out all components on a clean, soft surface to prevent scratches. Identify each part using the parts list.
  2. Attach Side Rails to Headboard and Footboard: Secure the upholstered side rails to the headboard and footboard using the provided bolts and Allen key. Ensure all connections are tight.
  3. Install Metal Frame: Place the metal bed frame inside the assembled bed structure. Attach it to the side rails using the designated hardware.
  4. Assemble Hydraulic Lift Mechanism: Carefully attach the hydraulic pistons to the metal frame according to the diagrams in your specific hardware manual. Ensure they are securely fastened. Note: Hydraulic pistons can be stiff initially; they will loosen with use.
  5. Insert Wooden Slats: Place the plastic slat holders onto the metal frame. Insert the wooden slats into these holders, ensuring they are evenly spaced and firmly seated.
  6. Install Fabric Bottom: Lay the fabric bottom into the storage compartment, securing it with the provided fasteners (if applicable) or simply laying it flat.

4. Operating Instructions

Using the Hydraulic Storage

The bed features a hydraulic lift mechanism for easy access to the under-bed storage compartment.

  • To Open: From the foot of the bed, firmly grasp the mattress support frame (or a designated handle if present) and lift upwards. The hydraulic pistons will assist in raising the frame and mattress. Lift until the frame locks into its fully open position.
  • To Close: Gently push down on the mattress support frame from the foot of the bed. The hydraulic pistons will slowly lower the frame back into the closed position. Ensure no objects or body parts are in the way.

Adjusting the Headboard Height

The headboard height can be adjusted by approximately 5 cm to suit your preference or mattress thickness.

  • Locate the adjustment bolts on the back of the headboard where it connects to the bed frame.
  • Loosen these bolts (do not remove them completely).
  • Carefully slide the headboard up or down to the desired height.
  • Once the desired height is achieved, securely tighten all adjustment bolts.

5. Maintenance

Upholstery Care

  • Regular Cleaning: Vacuum the velvet upholstery regularly using a soft brush attachment to remove dust and prevent dirt buildup.
  • Spot Cleaning: For spills, blot immediately with a clean, dry cloth. Do not rub. For stubborn stains, use a mild upholstery cleaner specifically designed for velvet, testing on an inconspicuous area first.
  • Avoid Direct Sunlight: Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can cause fading.

Hydraulic System and Frame

  • Check Connections: Periodically check all bolts and screws on the bed frame and hydraulic mechanism to ensure they remain tight. Retighten as necessary.
  • Hydraulic Function: If the hydraulic system becomes difficult to operate or makes unusual noises, inspect the pistons for any visible damage or leaks. Do not attempt to repair the pistons yourself; contact customer support.
  • Slat Integrity: Ensure all wooden slats are securely in place and free from cracks or damage. Replace any damaged slats immediately.

6. Troubleshooting

  • Bed Squeaks:
Solution: Check all bolts and connections, especially where the frame components meet. Tighten any loose hardware. Ensure slats are properly seated in their holders.
  • Hydraulic Lift Difficult to Operate:
Solution: Ensure the mattress is correctly positioned and not obstructing the mechanism. If the bed is new, the hydraulics may be stiff and will ease with use. If the issue persists, check for obstructions in the mechanism or contact support.
  • Storage Compartment Not Closing Evenly:
Solution: Verify that no items in the storage compartment are obstructing the closing mechanism. Ensure the bed frame is on a level surface.
  • Headboard Wobbles:
Solution: Retighten the bolts connecting the headboard to the side rails. If adjustable, ensure the height adjustment bolts are securely fastened.
