3. Product Overview

Controls and Display

4. Initial Setup

4.1. Charging the Device

  1. Connect the supplied USB-C cable to the USB-C port on the back of the radio.
  2. Connect the other end of the USB-C cable to a compatible USB power adapter (not included) or a powered USB port.
  3. The battery indicator on the display will show the charging status. Allow the device to fully charge before first use for optimal battery life.

4.2. Powering On and Automatic Scan

  1. Press and hold the Power Button on the top panel to turn on the radio.
  2. Upon first power-on, the radio will typically initiate an automatic scan for DAB+ and FM stations. This process may take a few minutes.
  3. Ensure the telescopic antenna is fully extended for best reception during the scan.
  4. Once the scan is complete, the radio will tune to the first available station.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Power On/Off

  • To turn on: Press and hold the Power Button.
  • To turn off: Press and hold the Power Button again.

5.2. Radio Mode (DAB+ / FM)

  1. Press the Source Button repeatedly to select either DAB+ or FM mode.
  2. In DAB+ mode, use the Navigation Buttons (< / >) to browse available stations.
  3. In FM mode, use the Navigation Buttons (< / >) to manually tune frequencies or press and hold to auto-scan for the next available station.
  4. To save a preset: Tune to the desired station, then press and hold one of the Preset Buttons (1-5) until the display confirms it's saved.
  5. To recall a preset: Briefly press the corresponding Preset Button (1-5).

5.3. Bluetooth Mode

  1. Press the Source Button until "Bluetooth" mode is selected on the display. The radio will enter pairing mode, indicated by a flashing Bluetooth icon.
  2. On your mobile device (smartphone, tablet, etc.), enable Bluetooth and search for available devices.
  3. Select "Loewe Radio.Frequency" from the list of devices to pair.
  4. Once paired, the Bluetooth icon on the radio's display will become solid, and you can stream audio from your device.

5.4. Volume Control

Rotate the large Rotary Knob on the top right of the radio clockwise to increase volume and counter-clockwise to decrease volume.

5.5. Alarm Function

  1. Press the Alarm Button to enter the alarm settings menu.
  2. Use the Navigation Buttons (< / >) and the Rotary Knob (press to confirm) to set the alarm time, source (buzzer, DAB+, or FM), and frequency.
  3. Important Note: Some users have reported that the minimum alarm volume can be quite loud (around 70dB). Please test the alarm volume in advance to ensure it is suitable for your preference.

6.1. Cleaning

  • Always disconnect the radio from the power source before cleaning.
  • Wipe the exterior surfaces with a soft, dry, or slightly damp cloth.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or strong detergents, as these may damage the finish.
  • Avoid getting moisture into any openings. The device is not waterproof.

6.2. Battery Care

  • For optimal battery life, avoid fully discharging the battery frequently.

Bluetooth device cannot pair. Ensure the radio is in Bluetooth pairing mode. Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on your device and it is within range. Try forgetting the device on your phone and re-pairing.
Alarm volume is too loud. The minimum alarm volume is fixed and cannot be adjusted below a certain level. Consider using a different alarm source if this is an issue.
Sound distortion. Reduce the volume. Ensure the audio source (e.g., Bluetooth device) is not sending a distorted signal.
