4.2 Wiring Diagram
Ensure all connections are secure and correctly oriented before powering on the ESC. The ESC connects to the motor, battery, and receiver.
- Connect the ESC's motor wires (blue, yellow) to your brushed motor.
- Connect the ESC's power input (red, black XT60 connector) to your battery.
- Connect the ESC's signal cable to the throttle channel (typically CH2) of your receiver.

4.3 Throttle Calibration
Proper throttle calibration ensures the ESC accurately responds to your transmitter's throttle input. Follow these steps:
- Connect the ESC, motor, battery, and receiver. Ensure the receiver is bound to the transmitter and outputs a PWM signal.
- Turn on the transmitter, keeping other devices powered off.
- Push the throttle stick to the highest position and hold it.
- Turn on the ESC. The motor will directly beep twice.
- After two beeps, push the throttle stick to the lowest position and hold it. The motor will make two beeps again.
- After two beeps, push the throttle stick to the neutral position and keep it. The motor will emit a series of beep sounds, indicating that the ESC throttle calibration is complete.
Note: If the motor doesn't make a beep sound when the throttle is at the highest position, change the order of the throttle position when calibrating. Keep throttle in "the lowest position - then the highest position - and finally the neutral position" for calibration.

5. Operating Modes
The CL9030 ESC offers four distinct operating modes, selectable via jumper caps, to suit different RC applications:
- Normal Mode: Standard forward and reverse operation.
- Brake Mode: Forward with brake, no reverse.
- Racing Mode: Forward with brake and reverse.
- Climbing Mode: Optimized for crawlers, providing precise low-speed control and strong drag brake.

6. Protection Features
The Radiolink CL9030 ESC is equipped with several smart protection features to ensure safe operation and prolong its lifespan:
- Under-Voltage Protection: Prevents battery over-discharge, especially crucial for lithium batteries. Ensure Jumper Cap 3 is correctly set for your battery type.
- Abnormal Voltage Input Protection: Safeguards the ESC from incorrect voltage inputs.
- Over-Temperature Protection: Automatically reduces power or shuts down the ESC if it reaches an unsafe operating temperature.
- Waterproof (IP66) and Dust-proof Design: Nano Coating provides protection against water splashes and dust, allowing for use in various environments.
7. Maintenance
- After use in wet conditions, especially saltwater, rinse the ESC with fresh water and dry thoroughly to prevent corrosion.
- Regularly inspect all wiring and connectors for signs of wear or damage.
- Keep the ESC free from dirt, dust, and debris to ensure optimal cooling.
8. Troubleshooting
- Motor Not Responding: Check all wiring connections (motor, battery, receiver). Ensure the ESC is powered on and the receiver is correctly bound to the transmitter. Re-calibrate the throttle range.
- ESC Beeping Continuously: This often indicates a protection feature has been triggered (e.g., low voltage, over-temperature). Check battery voltage and ESC temperature. Verify Jumper Cap 3 setting matches your battery type.
- Intermittent Operation/Loss of Power: Inspect for loose connections or damaged wires. Ensure the battery is fully charged and healthy. Check for signs of overheating.
- Incorrect Motor Direction: If the motor spins in the wrong direction, swap any two of the motor wires connected to the ESC.
