1. Introduction
Thank you for choosing the SMETA 60L 3-Way Camping Refrigerator. This appliance is designed for versatile use, offering cooling capabilities via AC (220V-240V), DC (12V), and Gas (Propane/Natural Gas). Its absorption cooling system ensures silent operation, making it ideal for various environments such as RVs, caravans, trucks, camping, and home use. This manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your refrigerator.

2. Safety Instructions
Please read and understand all safety instructions before operating the refrigerator. Failure to follow these instructions may result in property damage, injury, or death.
- Ventilation: Always ensure adequate ventilation when operating the refrigerator, especially when using the gas mode. Proper airflow prevents the accumulation of unburnt gas and ensures efficient operation.
- Gas Pressure: When operating on gas, ensure the gas pressure is 30 mbar. Incorrect gas pressure (e.g., 1 PSIG) may prevent continuous ignition or proper functioning. If your regulator is 1 PSIG, contact the manufacturer for a 30 mbar exchange.
- Installation: Install the refrigerator on a stable, level surface. Ensure all connections (electrical and gas) are secure and free from leaks.
- Flammable Materials: Do not store flammable materials or explosives inside or near the refrigerator.
- Maintenance: Only qualified personnel should perform repairs or complex maintenance.
- Children: Keep children away from the appliance during operation and maintenance.

4. Setup
4.1 Unpacking and Placement
- Carefully remove the refrigerator from its packaging.
- Place the refrigerator on a firm, level surface. Ensure there is sufficient space around the unit for proper ventilation, especially at the rear where the cooling system is located.
- For optimal performance, allow the refrigerator to stand upright for at least 6 hours before connecting to power or gas, especially if it was transported horizontally.
4.2 Connecting Power and Gas
- AC (220V-240V) Connection: Plug the AC power cord into a grounded wall outlet.
- DC (12V) Connection: Connect the DC power cord to a 12V DC power source, such as a vehicle's cigarette lighter socket or a dedicated 12V power supply. Ensure correct polarity.
- Gas Connection:
- Connect the gas hose from your propane or natural gas cylinder to the refrigerator's gas inlet.
- Ensure the gas pressure regulator is set to 30 mbar. Using a 1 PSIG regulator may cause ignition issues.
- Check all gas connections for leaks using a soapy water solution. Bubbles indicate a leak.

5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Selecting Operating Mode (AC/DC/Gas)
Use the Power Switch (A) on the control panel to select your desired operating mode:
- Turn knob (A) to "AC" for 220V-240V operation.
- Turn knob (A) to "DC" for 12V operation.
- Turn knob (A) to "GAS" for gas operation.
5.2 Gas Ignition Procedure
Follow these steps to ignite the refrigerator in gas mode:
- Turn the Mode Change Knob (A) to "GAS".
- Press and hold the Safety Valve & Pulse Switch (D) for 5 to 10 seconds. While holding it in, press the Piezo Ignitor (B) repeatedly to spark.
- Once the Flame Indicator (C) reaches the green zone, continue to hold the Safety Valve & Pulse Switch (D) for another 3 to 5 seconds, then release it to complete the ignition.
- After successful ignition, the Safety Valve & Pulse Switch (D) can be used to adjust the flame size between MIN and MAX.

Figure 5.1: Detailed Gas Ignition Method.
5.3 Temperature Control
The temperature is controlled by the Thermostat Knob (D) when operating on gas, and by the Electric Thermostat Knob (B) when operating on AC. Adjust the knob to achieve the desired cooling level within the 0°C to 10°C range.

6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and efficient operation of your SMETA refrigerator.
- Cleaning:
- Disconnect power and gas before cleaning.
- Clean the interior with a mild detergent and warm water. Wipe dry thoroughly.
- Clean the exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
- Periodically clean the rear cooling fins to ensure efficient heat dissipation.
- Gas System Check: Regularly inspect gas hoses and connections for any signs of wear, damage, or leaks. Perform a soapy water leak test periodically.
- Storage: If storing the refrigerator for an extended period, ensure it is clean, dry, and disconnected from all power and gas sources. Leave the door slightly ajar to prevent odors and mold growth.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your refrigerator, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Refrigerator not cooling (AC/DC) | No power; Incorrect mode selected; Overloaded; Poor ventilation. | Check power connection and outlet; Ensure correct mode (AC/DC) is selected; Do not overload the refrigerator; Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit. |
| Refrigerator not cooling (Gas) | No gas; Incorrect gas pressure; Gas not igniting; Poor ventilation. | Check gas cylinder level; Verify gas pressure is 30 mbar (not 1 PSIG); Follow gas ignition procedure carefully; Ensure proper ventilation. |
| Gas flame not staying lit | Insufficient holding time of safety valve; Incorrect gas pressure. | Hold the Safety Valve & Pulse Switch (D) for the recommended 3-5 seconds after the flame indicator turns green; Confirm gas pressure is 30 mbar. |
| Unusual odors | Food spoilage; Need for cleaning. | Clean the interior thoroughly; Remove any spoiled food. |
| Noisy operation | Not applicable for absorption refrigerators (0dB). If noise occurs, contact support. | This model is designed for silent operation. If you hear unusual noises, discontinue use and contact customer support. |
| Refrigerator stops working after long period of non-use or transport | Refrigerant blockage in absorption system. | As a last resort, and only if other troubleshooting steps fail, carefully turn the refrigerator upside down for 8 hours, then return it to the upright position for another 8 hours before attempting to operate it again. This can help redistribute the refrigerant solution. |
