1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing the Sinocare BSX516 Automatic Blood Pressure Monitor. This device is designed for accurate and convenient blood pressure measurement at home. Please read this manual thoroughly before use to ensure proper operation and to understand all safety precautions.

The Sinocare BSX516 features a precise measurement algorithm, a three-color backlit display for easy reading, voice broadcast functionality, and memory storage for two users. It also includes irregular heartbeat detection and is clinically validated for accuracy.

2. What's in the Box

Upon opening your Sinocare BSX516 Blood Pressure Monitor package, you should find the following items:

3. Setup Before Use

Before taking your first measurement, it is important to properly set up your device. This includes installing batteries, setting the date and time, and selecting the correct user profile.

3.1. Battery Installation

Open the battery compartment on the back of the monitor. Insert the 4 AA batteries, ensuring the correct polarity (+/-). Close the compartment securely. The device can also be powered via a USB interface (USB adapter not included), but it cannot be charged.

3.2. User Switching

The device supports two users. To switch between users, press the SET button. This will allow you to select the desired user profile for measurement and memory storage.

3.3. Date and Time Setup

To set the date and time:

1. Press and hold the SET button for at least 3 seconds to enter setup mode.
2. Use the MEM button to adjust the year, month, day, hour, and minute.
3. Press SET to confirm each setting and move to the next.

3.4. Unit Switching (mmHg/kPa)

To switch between mmHg and kPa measurement units, long press the START/STOP button for 15 seconds. The display will show the current unit and switch accordingly.

4. How to Measure Blood Pressure Correctly

Accurate blood pressure measurement requires proper technique. Follow these steps for reliable readings:

1. Prepare the Cuff: Make sure the air plug is securely inserted into the main device.
2. Apply the Cuff: Wrap the cuff around your upper left arm. Ensure the air tube is centered on the inside of your arm and aligned. Remove any tight-fitting clothing from your upper arm. Leave a two-finger gap between your arm and the cuff; it should not be too tight or too loose.
3. Position Yourself: Sit comfortably with your back supported and feet flat on the floor. Rest your arm on a table so the cuff is at the same level as your heart.
4. Start Measurement: Press the START/STOP button. The cuff will inflate automatically, and the measurement will begin. Remain still and do not talk during the measurement.
5. Read Results: Once the measurement is complete, your systolic pressure (SYS), diastolic pressure (DIA), and pulse rate (PUL) will be displayed on the screen. The device may also provide a voice broadcast of the results.

5. Reading the Memory

The Sinocare BSX516 stores up to 90 readings for each of two users, including the measurement time and date. It also automatically calculates the average of the last three measurements.

1. To access stored readings, press the MEM button when the device is off.
2. Each press of the MEM button will cycle through the stored readings, starting with the most recent.
3. The average of the last three readings will be displayed first.

For optimal accuracy and user safety, please adhere to the following guidelines:

1. Users should be relaxed as much as possible and do not talk during the measurement procedure.
2. 5 minutes should elapse before the first reading is taken.
3. Measurement should be taken at the same arm each time.
4. Any blood pressure reading can be affected by the measurement site, the position of the user (standing, sitting, lying down), exercise, or the user's physiologic condition.
