1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing the HPBS 2000A Portable Jump Starter. This device is designed to provide a reliable power source for jump-starting vehicles with dead batteries, as well as charging various electronic devices. Please read this manual thoroughly before use to ensure safe and optimal operation.

2. Safety Information

Always observe the following safety precautions to prevent injury or damage to the device and your vehicle:

  • Do not allow the red and black clamps to touch each other.
  • Do not jump-start a vehicle if the battery voltage is below 12V.
  • Ensure proper polarity when connecting the clamps to the vehicle battery.
  • Do not expose the device to extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, or water.
  • Keep out of reach of children.
  • If the device becomes excessively hot during use, discontinue operation immediately.
  • Always disconnect the clamps from the vehicle battery in reverse order of connection (black first, then red).

5. Charging the Jump Starter

Before first use, fully charge the jump starter. It is recommended to recharge the device every 3-6 months to maintain optimal battery health.

  • Connect the provided USB-C charging cable to the USB-C Input port (4) on the jump starter.
  • Connect the other end of the USB-C cable to a suitable USB wall adapter (not included) or the 12V DC car charger adapter.
  • The digital display will show the charging progress. The device is fully charged when the display shows 100%.

6. Setup for Jump Starting

Ensure the jump starter is adequately charged before attempting to jump-start a vehicle.

  • Connect the smart jumper cables to the EC5 Output Port (3) on the jump starter. Ensure a firm connection.
  • Connect the red (positive) clamp to the positive (+) terminal of the vehicle's dead battery.
  • Connect the black (negative) clamp to the negative (-) terminal of the vehicle's dead battery.
  • The smart jumper cable indicator light will show green if the connection is correct and safe to proceed. If it shows red or flashes, check the connections.

7. Operating the Jump Starter

Once the setup is complete and the smart cable indicator is green:

  • Start your vehicle's engine.
  • If the vehicle does not start on the first attempt, wait at least 30 seconds before trying again. Do not attempt more than 3 consecutive jump starts.
  • Once the vehicle starts, immediately disconnect the black (negative) clamp from the vehicle battery.
  • Then, disconnect the red (positive) clamp from the vehicle battery.
  • Finally, disconnect the smart jumper cables from the jump starter.

8. Power Bank Functionality

The HPBS Jump Starter can also function as a power bank to charge your electronic devices.

  • Connect your device's USB charging cable to either USB Output 1 (5) or USB Output 2 (6) on the jump starter.
  • The jump starter will automatically begin charging your device.
  • The digital display will show the remaining battery percentage of the jump starter.
  • The DC Output port (8) can be used to power 12-16V/6A compatible devices.

9. LED Flashlight Functionality

The built-in LED flashlight provides illumination for various situations.

  • Press and hold the Flashlight Button (7) for 3 seconds to turn on the LED light.
  • Press the Flashlight Button (7) again to cycle through the modes: solid light, strobe, and SOS signal.
  • Press and hold the Flashlight Button (7) for 3 seconds to turn off the LED light.

10. Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and performance of your jump starter:

  • Store the device in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
  • Recharge the jump starter at least once every 3-6 months, even if not in use, to prevent deep discharge and extend battery life.
  • Clean the exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
  • Keep the ports free from dust and debris.

11. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your HPBS Jump Starter, refer to the following common solutions:

  • Device not turning on: Ensure the device is charged. Press and hold the Power Button (1) for a few seconds.
  • Vehicle not starting: Check that the smart jumper cables are securely connected to both the jump starter and the vehicle battery terminals. Ensure correct polarity (red to positive, black to negative). The smart cable indicator should be green.
  • Flashlight not working: Press and hold the Flashlight Button (7) for 3 seconds to activate. If it still doesn't work, ensure the device has sufficient charge.
  • Device not charging: Verify that the USB-C cable and wall adapter are functioning correctly. Ensure the cable is firmly inserted into the USB-C Input port (4).
