4. Setup and Installation
This RV door lock is designed for straightforward replacement of existing handles. Ensure your door's cutout dimensions match the requirements for proper fitment.
4.1. Pre-Installation Check
- Verify your door's hole cutout is approximately 2.67" wide x 3.6" tall.
- Confirm door thickness is between 1.25" and 1.5".
- Ensure your door has right-side hinges for compatibility.

4.2. Installation Steps
- Remove Old Lock: Use the provided screwdriver to remove the screws securing your existing RV door lock. Carefully detach the old lock assembly from the door.
- Insert New Lock: Align the new BesBuy RV door lock with the existing cutout in your door. Gently push the lock into place, ensuring the bolts and handle mechanism fit correctly.
- Secure External Plate: From the exterior side of the door, secure the external plate of the lock using the appropriate screws. The provided screwdriver can be used for this step.

5. Operating Instructions
Your BesBuy RV door lock provides multiple ways to secure and access your vehicle.
5.1. Locking from Exterior
- Using the Key: Insert one of the provided keys into the upper keyhole on the exterior side of the lock. Turn the key to engage the deadbolt. Remove the key.
- Paddle Handle: The paddle handle on the exterior side operates the main latch. When the deadbolt is engaged, the paddle handle will not open the door.
5.2. Unlocking from Exterior
- Using the Key: Insert the key into the upper keyhole. Turn the key to retract the deadbolt. Then, press the paddle handle to open the door.
5.3. Locking from Interior
- Internal Red Lock: On the interior side, locate the red lever. Push or slide this lever to engage the internal deadbolt. This provides additional security from the inside.
5.4. Unlocking from Interior
- Internal Red Lock: Push or slide the red lever to disengage the internal deadbolt.
- Internal Door Handle: Press the internal door handle to retract the latch and open the door.
