6. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your DVR, consider the following maintenance tips:

  • Clean the Lens: Periodically clean the camera lens with a soft, lint-free cloth to ensure clear recordings. Avoid abrasive materials that could scratch the lens.
  • Memory Card Management: Regularly format your memory card (e.g., once a month) through the DVR application settings to prevent data corruption and maintain optimal recording performance. Back up any important videos before formatting.
  • Firmware Updates: Check the manufacturer's website or the DVR application for any available firmware updates. Keeping the firmware updated can improve performance and add new features.
  • Temperature Control: While the DVR is designed for a wide operating temperature range, avoid prolonged exposure to extreme temperatures (e.g., direct sunlight in a parked car on a hot day) when possible, as this can affect electronic components.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your DVR, refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:

  • DVR Not Powering On/Not Detected:
    • Ensure the USB cable is securely connected to both the DVR and the car stereo's USB port.
    • Verify that the car stereo is powered on and functioning correctly.
