1. Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your hexahedron PND-701 Portable Wireless CarPlay & Android Auto Display. 3. Product Overview

Familiarize yourself with the various components and ports of your PND-701 display.

1. AUX Audio Output: Connects to your car's AUX input for audio transmission.
2. Video Input: For connecting the rear view camera.
3. USB Port: For data transfer or charging.
4. MIC: Built-in microphone for voice commands and calls.
5. TF Card Slot: For inserting a TF (MicroSD) card.
6. DC 12V Power Supply: Power input for the device.

4. Setup

Follow these steps for proper installation of your hexahedron PND-701 display.

4.1 Mounting the Display

• Clean the desired mounting surface on your dashboard or windshield.
• Attach the suction cup mount to the display unit.
• Press the suction cup firmly onto the clean surface and engage the locking mechanism to secure it.
• Adjust the display angle for optimal viewing. The mount allows for 360-degree rotation and 150-degree tilt.

4.2 Power Connection

• Connect the provided car charger to the DC 12V power supply port on the display unit.
• Plug the car charger into your vehicle's 12V power outlet (cigarette lighter socket).
• The device is compatible with 9-26V power systems found in various vehicles including cars, trucks, and vans.

4.3 Reversing Camera Installation

The AHD HD reversing camera provides parking assistance. Professional installation is recommended for optimal results.

• Mount the reversing camera at the rear of your vehicle, ensuring a clear view.
• Connect the camera's red wire to your vehicle's reversing lamp positive (+) power source.
• Connect the camera's black wire to a ground (GND) point.
• Connect the video cable from the camera to the Video Input port on the PND-701 display.
• Ensure all connections are secure and properly insulated.

5. Operating Instructions

Learn how to utilize the various features of your PND-701 display.

5.1 Wireless CarPlay / Android Auto

Connect your smartphone wirelessly to access navigation, messaging, music, and voice assistants.

• Ensure Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are enabled on your smartphone.
• On the PND-701, select the CarPlay or Android Auto icon.
• Follow the on-screen prompts to pair your phone.
• Once connected, you can use voice commands (Siri or Google Assistant) for navigation, calls, and music playback.

5.2 Mirror Link / Airplay

Synchronize your phone's screen to the PND-701 display via USB cable for larger visuals.

• Connect your smartphone to the PND-701 via a USB cable.
• Select the Mirror Link or Airplay option on the display.
• Your phone's screen content will be mirrored on the 7-inch HD touchscreen.

5.3 Bluetooth Hands-Free Calling & Music Playback

Connect your phone via Bluetooth for hands-free communication and audio streaming.

• Enable Bluetooth on your smartphone.
• On the PND-701, navigate to the Bluetooth settings and search for available devices.
• Select your phone from the list to pair.
• Once paired, you can make and receive calls directly from the display, and stream music to the device's built-in speakers or your car's audio system.

5.4 Audio Transmission (FM / AUX)

Transmit audio from the PND-701 to your car's original speaker system.

• FM Transmission: Tune the PND-701 to an unused FM frequency (87.50MHz-108.00MHz). Tune your car radio to the same FM frequency. Audio will play through your car's speakers. Note: FM transmission is for frequency matching only, not for receiving radio signals.
• AUX Connection: Connect the provided AUX cable from the PND-701's AUX Audio Output to your car's AUX input port. Select AUX input on your car radio.

5.5 Reversing Camera Function

When the reversing camera is properly installed and connected, the display will automatically switch to the camera view when your vehicle is put into reverse gear, providing a clear image for parking assistance.

6. Maintenance

Proper care ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your PND-701 display.

• Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the screen and device body. For stubborn smudges, slightly dampen the cloth with water or a screen-safe cleaner. Avoid abrasive materials or harsh chemicals.
• Temperature: Avoid exposing the device to extreme temperatures, direct sunlight for prolonged periods, or excessive humidity.
• Storage: If storing the device for an extended period, disconnect it from power and store it in a cool, dry place.
• Cables: Regularly check cables for any signs of wear or damage. Replace damaged cables immediately.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your PND-701 display, refer to the following common problems and solutions.

• No Power:
  • Ensure the car charger is securely plugged into both the device and the vehicle's 12V outlet.
  • Check if the vehicle's 12V outlet is functioning (e.g., by plugging in another device).
  • Verify the vehicle's ignition is on if the outlet is switched.
• No Audio / Poor Audio Quality:
  • If using FM transmission, ensure the PND-701 and your car radio are tuned to the exact same, clear FM frequency. Try a different frequency if interference occurs.
  • If using AUX, ensure the AUX cable is fully inserted into both the PND-701 and your car's AUX input, and your car radio is set to AUX input mode.
  • Adjust the volume on both the PND-701 and your car radio.
• CarPlay / Android Auto Not Connecting:
  • Ensure Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are active on your smartphone.
  • Forget the device from your phone's Bluetooth settings and attempt to re-pair.
  • Restart both your smartphone and the PND-701.
  • Check for any software updates for your phone's operating system.
• Reversing Camera Not Displaying:
  • Verify all camera connections (power and video) are secure and correctly wired.
  • Ensure the vehicle is in reverse gear.
  • Check if the camera itself is receiving power.
• Touchscreen Unresponsive / Lagging:
  • Perform a system reset using the designated button (refer to Product Overview).
  • Ensure the screen is clean and free of debris.
• Poor Microphone Performance:
  • If using an external microphone, ensure it is properly connected and positioned away from obstructions.
  • Test the built-in microphone if the external one is unsatisfactory.
