1. Product Overview

3. Setup and Installation

3.1 Safety Precautions

WARNING: Electrical Shock Hazard.

• Always turn off power at the circuit breaker before installing or servicing the thermostat.
• This thermostat is designed for 120-240V electric baseboard heating systems ONLY. It is NOT compatible with 24V central heating systems or single pole systems.
• Installation should be performed by a qualified electrician if you are unsure about any steps.

3.2 Wiring and Mounting

1. Turn off Power: Locate the circuit breaker controlling your baseboard heater and turn it OFF. Verify power is off at the heater before proceeding.
2. Remove Old Thermostat: Carefully remove your existing thermostat from the wall. Disconnect the wires, noting their connections if necessary.
3. Mount Wall Plate: Secure the provided custom wall plate to your standard American or Canadian electrical box using the included screws. Ensure it is level and firmly attached.
4. Connect Wires: Connect the pigtail electrical wires from the thermostat to your home's wiring according to the wiring diagram provided in the detailed instructions. Ensure all connections are secure.
5. Attach Thermostat: Carefully attach the thermostat unit to the mounted wall plate. It should click securely into place.
6. Restore Power: Turn the power back ON at the circuit breaker. The thermostat display should illuminate.

3.3 Wi-Fi and App Connection

To utilize the smart features, connect your thermostat to your home's 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network and the Smart Life or Tuya app.

1. Download App: Download the "Smart Life" or "Tuya Smart" app from your smartphone's app store (available on iOS and Android).
2. Register/Login: Open the app and register a new account or log in if you already have one.
3. Add Device: In the app, tap the "+" icon to add a new device. Select "Small Home Appliance" then "Thermostat (Wi-Fi)".
4. Enter Wi-Fi Details: Follow the on-screen prompts to enter your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network name and password.
5. Pairing Mode: On the thermostat, press and hold the Wi-Fi icon or follow the specific instructions in the app to put the thermostat into pairing mode (the Wi-Fi indicator should blink rapidly).
6. Complete Pairing: Confirm the blinking indicator in the app and proceed. The app will search for and connect to your thermostat. Once connected, the Wi-Fi indicator on the thermostat will become solid.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Manual Control

The thermostat's LCD screen displays the current temperature, target temperature, time, and Wi-Fi connectivity status. Use the up and down arrows on the device to manually adjust the target temperature. The display will show the new target temperature and then revert to the current room temperature after a few seconds.

Once connected to the Smart Life or Tuya app, you can manage your thermostat from anywhere with an internet connection. This includes:
