1. Introduction

Please read this manual carefully before using the remote control to ensure proper function and longevity.

2. Product Overview

The CONTROL INN Universal Remote Control is an ergonomic and durable replacement or secondary remote for your Zmartech air conditioner. It features an intuitive button layout and an LCD screen for easy temperature and mode adjustments.

3. Setup

3.1 Battery Installation

1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the remote control (refer to Figure 2.3).
2. Slide the battery compartment cover downwards and remove it.
3. Insert two (2) AAA batteries (not included), ensuring the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals match the diagrams inside the compartment.
4. Replace the battery compartment cover by sliding it back into place until it clicks securely.

Note: Always use new batteries and replace both batteries at the same time. Do not mix old and new batteries or different types of batteries.

3.2 Initial Configuration

This universal remote control is designed for quick and uncomplicated synchronization with compatible Zmartech air conditioners. Typically, no complex programming is required. After installing batteries, point the remote at your air conditioner and press the Power button. The air conditioner should respond. If it does not, ensure the remote has a clear line of sight to the AC unit's receiver.

4. Operating Instructions

The remote control features several buttons for various functions:

• Power Button (Yellow button at the bottom): Turns the air conditioner ON or OFF.
• HEATER: Activates the heating function of the air conditioner.
• SWING: Controls the louver swing function for air direction.
• FAN: Adjusts the fan speed (e.g., Low, Medium, High, Auto).
• TIMER OFF: Sets a timer for the air conditioner to turn off automatically.
• TIMER ON: Sets a timer for the air conditioner to turn on automatically.
• SMART: Activates an intelligent mode, often automatically adjusting settings for optimal comfort.
• MODE: Cycles through operating modes (e.g., Cool, Dry, Fan, Heat, Auto).
• Up/Down Arrows (Center buttons): Adjusts temperature settings, timer values, or navigates menu options on the LCD screen.

To operate, point the remote control directly at the air conditioner's receiver. The LCD screen will display the current settings.

5. Maintenance

• Cleaning: Wipe the remote control with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or abrasive materials.
• Battery Replacement: Replace batteries when the remote's range decreases or the display becomes dim. Remove batteries if the remote will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage.
• Storage: Store the remote in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

6. Troubleshooting

• Remote not responding:
  • Check if batteries are correctly inserted with proper polarity.
  • Replace old batteries with new ones.
  • Ensure there are no obstructions between the remote and the air conditioner.
  • Confirm the remote is pointed directly at the AC unit's infrared receiver.
• Limited range:
  • Replace batteries.
  • Ensure the maximum operating range of 10 meters is not exceeded.
• Display is dim or blank:
  • Replace batteries.
