  2. Step 2: Attach an adhesive extension block to the groove of the upper rail on the right side. Note: It is forbidden to put more than one block.
  3. Step 3: Push the blind unit into the window frame and tighten the no-drill device to secure it.
  4. Step 4: Mount the valance cover onto the shades to conceal the top rail and block light from the gap.

2.3 Mounting Type Considerations

Proper measurement is crucial for optimal fit and function. Consider the following guidelines for inside and outside mounts:

  • Inside Mount:
    • Window frame depth must be greater than 1.5 inches (or 2.5 inches if drilling holes).
    • Order width should be the actual window width minus 0.25 inches.
    • Order height is 72 inches (height adjustable from 0-72 inches).
  • Outside Mount:
    • Order width should be the largest window width plus at least 4 inches.
    • Order height is 72 inches (height adjustable from 0-72 inches).

3. Operation

3.1 Remote Control

The motorized blinds come with a remote control for easy operation. The remote is pre-paired with the motor, requiring no additional setup for basic control.

3.2 Smart Home Integration (Optional)

For advanced control features such as APP control and voice control (via Alexa or Google Assistant), the AX290 motor requires a smart bridge (hub). This hub allows you to connect your blinds to your smart home ecosystem, enabling features like:

  • Timer Control: Schedule blinds to open or close at specific times.
  • Remote Control via App: Operate blinds from your smartphone or tablet.
  • Multi-Control: Control multiple blinds simultaneously.
  • Location Control: Automate blinds based on your location.
  • Voice Control: Use voice commands with compatible devices (e.g., Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant).

4. Maintenance

4.1 Cleaning

To clean the blackout textured fabric, gently wipe it with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, as these may damage the fabric or coating. For stubborn spots, a mild soap solution can be used, followed by wiping with a clean, damp cloth.

4.2 Battery Replacement

The motorized blinds are powered by batteries located in a compartment at the top of the unit. When the batteries are low, simply remove and replace them. The motor is designed for low energy consumption, with batteries typically lasting for approximately 600 operations (about half a year with average use).

5. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Hapadif Motorized Blinds, please refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  • Blinds Not Responding to Remote/App:
    • Check the batteries in the remote control and the blind motor. Replace if necessary.
    • Ensure the remote is within effective range and pointed towards the blind.
    • If using the app, verify that the smart bridge (hub) is powered on and connected to your home network.
    • Try restarting the smart bridge and the blind motor (by temporarily removing and reinserting batteries).
  • Motor Malfunctions (Jams, Stutters, Unexpected Movement):
    • Ensure there are no obstructions preventing the blind from moving freely.
    • Check if the blind fabric is properly aligned on the roller.
    • Verify that the no-drill device or mounting brackets are securely fastened. Loose mounting can cause operational issues.
    • If the issue persists, contact customer support for further assistance.
  • Blinds Falling After Installation (No-Drill Method):
    • Ensure the window frame surface was thoroughly cleaned and dry before applying the adhesive extension block.
    • Verify that the no-drill device is tightened securely as per installation instructions.
    • If the no-drill method proves insufficient for your window frame material or usage, consider using alternative mounting hardware that requires drilling for a more secure installation.

For any issues not covered here, or if troubleshooting steps do not resolve the problem, please contact Hapadif customer support.
