  2. Step 2: Initial Connection and Display Check

Place both the indoor monitor and the floating thermometer near each other for the first connection. Check the display on both units. The indoor monitor should show the outdoor temperature from the floating thermometer, along with its own indoor temperature and humidity readings.

If the units do not connect automatically, ensure there are no significant obstacles between them during initial pairing. The indoor unit may not work optimally with a low battery; try an alkaline battery if issues persist.

Operating Instructions

Understanding the Display

The indoor monitor features a large LCD display showing various readings:

  • Indoor Temperature: Current temperature at the indoor monitor's location.
  • Indoor Humidity: Current humidity at the indoor monitor's location.
  • Outdoor Temperature: Temperature reported by the floating pool thermometer.
  • Channel Number: Indicates which outdoor sensor is being displayed (supports up to 3 channels).
  • Battery Life Indicator: Shows remaining battery power for both units.

Switching Temperature Units (°C/°F)

You can switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit on both the indoor monitor and the floating thermometer:

  • Indoor Monitor: Press the '°F/°C Button' on the top of the indoor monitor.
  • Floating Thermometer: Unscrew the cover of the transmitter. Press and hold the 'C/F Button' inside for 5 seconds.

Monitoring Multiple Locations (Optional)

The indoor monitor supports simultaneous monitoring of up to 3 outdoor sensors (additional sensors sold separately). Each sensor will transmit data on a different channel.

Transmission Distance

The wireless transmission distance can reach up to 300 feet (90 meters) in open areas without obstacles. For optimal performance, ensure a clear line of sight between the floating thermometer and the indoor monitor.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning:

Wipe both units with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the indoor monitor in water. The floating thermometer is waterproof (IPX7 rated) but should be cleaned gently.

  • Battery Replacement:

Replace batteries in both units when the low battery indicator appears on the display. General battery life is 3-6 months. For best performance, use alkaline batteries.

  • Waterproofing (Floating Thermometer):

The floating thermometer is IPX7 waterproof, meaning it can be submerged in water up to 1 meter for 30 minutes. Ensure the battery compartment cover is securely tightened to maintain its waterproof seal. It comes with a heavy-duty silicone airtight ring for enhanced protection.
