3. Installation Guide
Follow these steps for a smooth installation of your Veise RZ-A Keyless Entry Deadbolt. A Phillips head screwdriver is the only tool required.
3.1. Measure the Dimensions
Verify your door's dimensions to ensure compatibility. Check the hole diameter, backset, and door thickness. The deadbolt is compatible with standard American doors.
3.2. Install the Latch and Strike
Insert the latch into the door edge, ensuring the 'UP' arrow is facing upwards and the latch is in the retracted (unlocked) position. Secure it with the provided screws. Then, install the strike plate on the door frame, aligning it with the latch.
3.3. Install Exterior Assembly
Feed the cable from the exterior assembly through the door hole, ensuring the torque blade is horizontal and aligns with the latch. Route the cable below the latch to prevent pinching.
3.4. Install Interior Assembly
Connect the cable connector from the exterior assembly to the socket on the interior assembly. Ensure the thumbturn on the interior assembly is in the vertical position and the axle is horizontal. Align the interior assembly with the mounting plate and secure it with the interior assembly screws.
3.5. Detect Left or Right Hand Door Installation
With the door open and unlocked, load three AA batteries into the interior assembly. Press and hold the Reset button using the reset tool. While holding, load the fourth battery. The latch will extend automatically to learn the door's orientation. Once complete, install the battery cover.

4.2. Anti-Peeking Password
To prevent others from guessing your code, the anti-peeking function allows you to enter random digits before or after your actual password. The lock will still recognize the correct sequence within the longer string of numbers, providing an extra layer of security.
4.3. Auto Lock & One-Touch Lock
For added convenience, the lock can be set to 'auto lock' after a delay of 10-99 seconds. Alternatively, you can manually lock the door by pressing and holding any key on the keypad for 2 seconds. This ensures your home is always secure, even if you forget to lock it.
4.4. Backlit Keypad
The keypad features a backlight, making it easy to see and operate the lock in low-light conditions or at night. The buttons illuminate when touched, providing clear visibility for entering codes.
