1. Introduction

This manual provides comprehensive instructions for the safe and efficient use of your Nothing Phone (1). Please read this manual carefully before using the device to ensure proper operation and to prevent damage.

2. Setup

2.1. Unboxing and Package Contents

Upon opening the package, verify that all components are present:

  • Handset
  • Type-C cable
  • Safety information and warranty card
  • Screen protector (pre-applied)
  • SIM tray ejector

2.2. Inserting the SIM Card

  1. Locate the SIM tray on the side of the device.
  2. Insert the SIM tray ejector tool into the small hole next to the tray and press firmly until the tray pops out.
  3. Place your Nano-SIM card(s) into the tray with the gold contacts facing down.
  4. Carefully reinsert the SIM tray into the device.

2.3. Initial Power On and Charging

Press and hold the power button on the side of the phone until the Nothing logo appears. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the initial setup, including language selection, Wi-Fi connection, and Google account setup. For charging, connect the provided Type-C cable to the phone's charging port and to a compatible power adapter (not included). The device supports fast charging.

3. Operating Your Nothing Phone (1)

3.1. Basic Navigation

The Nothing Phone (1) operates on Android 12.0. Navigate the 6.55-inch OLED display using touch gestures:

  • Tap: Select an item or open an app.
  • Swipe: Scroll through screens or lists.
  • Pinch-to-zoom: Enlarge or reduce content on screen.
  • Long press: Access contextual menus or move icons.

3.2. Glyph Interface

The Glyph Interface on the back of the phone is a unique notification system. It uses customizable light patterns to indicate incoming calls, app notifications, charging status, and more. You can configure Glyph patterns and brightness settings in the phone's settings menu under "Glyph Interface".

3.3. Camera Usage

Your Nothing Phone (1) is equipped with a versatile camera system:

  • Rear Cameras: Dual 50MP + 50MP sensors for high-resolution photos and videos.
  • Front Camera: 16MP sensor for selfies and video calls.

Open the Camera app from your home screen or app drawer. Select different modes like Photo, Video, Portrait, or Night Mode. Tap the shutter button to capture images or start/stop video recording.

3.4. Connectivity

The device supports various connectivity options:

  • Wi-Fi 6: For high-speed internet access.
  • Bluetooth v5.3: For connecting wireless accessories like headphones and speakers.
  • NFC: For contactless payments and quick pairing with compatible devices.

Regular software updates are released to improve performance, add new features, and enhance security. To check for updates, go to Settings > System > System update. Ensure your device is connected to Wi-Fi and has sufficient battery life before initiating an update.

4.3. Battery Care
