Setup Guide

  1. Unboxing: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Verify that all parts listed in the specifications (main unit, pH probe, ORP probe, EC/TDS/Salt/S.G/CF/Temperature probe, power adapter) are present.
  2. Power Connection: Connect the provided DC 6V power adapter to the main unit's power input port. Plug the adapter into a standard US 110V electrical outlet.
  3. Probe Connection:
    • Connect the pH probe to the designated "pH" BNC connector on the main unit.
    • Connect the ORP probe to the designated "ORP" BNC connector on the main unit.
    • Connect the EC/TDS/Salt/S.G/CF/Temperature probe to its respective input port.
  4. Initial Placement: Position the main unit in a stable, dry location away from direct sunlight or excessive vibrations. Ensure the probes can be submerged in the water source without straining the cables.
  5. App Download & Connection:
    • Download the "Smart APP" (as mentioned in product features) from your mobile device's app store (compatible with iOS and Android systems).
    • Follow the in-app instructions to connect the device to your local WiFi network and register your account. This will enable remote monitoring.

Operating Instructions

  1. Power On: Once connected to power, the device will automatically power on and display current readings on its digital screens.
  2. Submerge Probes: Carefully submerge the pH, ORP, and EC/TDS/Salt/S.G/CF/Temperature probes into the water source you wish to monitor. Ensure the probes are fully immersed and free from air bubbles.
  3. Readings: The main unit will display real-time readings for pH/Temperature, ORP, and EC/TDS/Salt/S.G/CF. Allow a few moments for readings to stabilize.
  4. App Monitoring: Open the "Smart APP" on your mobile device. You should see the real-time data from the meter. Navigate through the app to view specific parameters, historical data (daily, weekly, monthly), and adjust settings if available.
  5. Parameter Switching (if applicable): The device has buttons (e.g., "MODE") to switch between different display modes for the multi-parameter screen (EC/TDS/Salt/S.G/CF). Refer to the labels on the device for specific functions.

Calibration

Regular calibration is crucial for maintaining the accuracy of your water quality meter. The W218 supports automatic correction for various parameters.

pH Calibration:

The device supports 3-point pH calibration. Users can choose calibration points from 6.86, 4.00, 9.18, or 7.00, 4.00, 10.00. Factory default calibration is 6.86, 4.00, 9.19.

  1. Prepare fresh pH buffer solutions (e.g., pH 6.86, pH 4.00, pH 9.18/10.00).
  2. Rinse the pH probe with distilled water and gently blot dry.
  3. Submerge the pH probe into the first buffer solution (e.g., pH 6.86).
  4. Press the "CAL" button under the pH/TEMP display. The device will automatically recognize the buffer and calibrate. Wait for the reading to stabilize and the calibration process to complete (indicated by a specific display change or sound).
  5. Repeat the process for the second and third buffer solutions, rinsing the probe thoroughly between each solution.

ORP Calibration:

Factory default ORP calibration is 265mV.

  1. Prepare a fresh ORP calibration solution (e.g., 265mV).
  2. Rinse the ORP probe with distilled water and gently blot dry.
  3. Submerge the ORP probe into the calibration solution.
  4. Press the "CAL" button under the ORP display. Wait for the reading to stabilize and the calibration process to complete.

EC/TDS/Salt/S.G/CF Calibration:

Factory default EC calibration is 12.88ms/cm, 1.413ms/cm.

  1. Prepare fresh EC calibration solutions (e.g., 12.88ms/cm, 1.413ms/cm).
  2. Rinse the EC probe with distilled water and gently blot dry.
  3. Submerge the EC probe into the first calibration solution.
  4. Press the "CAL" button under the PPM/EC/SALT/S.G/CF display. Wait for the reading to stabilize and the calibration process to complete.
  5. Repeat for other calibration points if necessary, rinsing the probe between solutions.

Note: Always use fresh calibration solutions and follow the specific instructions in the device's full manual for precise calibration procedures.

Maintenance

  • Probe Cleaning: Regularly clean the probes with distilled water to remove any buildup or contaminants that may affect readings. For stubborn deposits, use a soft brush or a mild cleaning solution recommended for probes.
  • Probe Storage: When not in use for extended periods, ensure pH and ORP probes are stored in their respective storage solutions or a suitable electrode storage solution to prevent drying out. The EC probe can typically be stored dry.
  • Calibration: Calibrate the meter regularly, especially before critical measurements or if you notice inconsistent readings. Refer to the Calibration section for details.
  • Device Cleaning: Wipe the main unit with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the main unit in water.
  • Environmental Conditions: Operate and store the device within the specified operating temperature range (0°C-50°C) and avoid extreme humidity.
