Introduction

The Dell OptiPlex 3090 Micro is a compact and powerful desktop computer designed for various computing tasks. It features an Intel Core i5-10500T processor, 32GB of DDR4 RAM, and a 1TB PCIe SSD, running on Windows 11 Pro.
Setup
1. Unpacking
Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Ensure the following items are present:
- Dell OptiPlex 3090 Micro Desktop
- Power Adapter and Cable
- Wired Keyboard
- Wired Mouse
- Documentation (this manual, safety information)
2. Connecting Peripherals
Connect your keyboard, mouse, and monitor to the appropriate ports on the desktop.

2.1. Keyboard and Mouse
Connect the wired keyboard and mouse to any available USB 3.2 Gen1 ports on the desktop. These ports are typically blue internally.
2.2. Monitor
Connect your monitor to one of the two DisplayPort (DP) outputs on the rear of the desktop. Ensure the monitor is also connected to a power source and turned on.

3. Powering On
Connect the power adapter to the desktop's power input and then plug the power cable into a wall outlet. Press the power button located on the front of the desktop to turn it on.

4. Initial Setup (Windows 11 Pro)
Upon first boot, the system will guide you through the Windows 11 Pro setup process. Follow the on-screen instructions to configure language, region, network settings, and user accounts.
5. Network Connection
5.1. Wi-Fi
During the Windows setup, you will be prompted to connect to a Wi-Fi network. Select your network from the list and enter the password if required. The system supports 802.11ac Wi-Fi.
5.2. Ethernet (Wired)
For a wired connection, connect an Ethernet cable from your router or modem to the RJ-45 port on the rear of the desktop. The system will automatically detect and configure the connection.
Operating Instructions
1. Power On/Off and Restart
- To Power On: Press the power button on the front panel.
- To Shut Down: Click the Start button in Windows, then select Power > Shut down.
- To Restart: Click the Start button in Windows, then select Power > Restart.
- Force Shut Down: If the system is unresponsive, press and hold the power button for approximately 10 seconds until the system turns off. Use this only as a last resort.
2. Using Ports
The OptiPlex 3090 Micro provides various ports for connectivity:
- USB 3.2 Gen1 Ports: Use these for connecting peripherals such as external drives, printers, and other USB devices. There are 5 such ports.
- DisplayPort (DP): Connect your monitor(s) here. The system has 2 DisplayPort outputs.
- Headphone/Microphone Combo Jack: Connect a headset or external speakers/microphone.
- Ethernet (RJ-45): For wired network connections.
3. Bluetooth Connectivity
The desktop includes Bluetooth 5.0 for connecting wireless devices such as headphones, speakers, and input devices. To pair a Bluetooth device:
- Ensure your Bluetooth device is in pairing mode.
- In Windows, go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices.
- Turn on Bluetooth and click Add device.
- Select Bluetooth and choose your device from the list to complete pairing.
Maintenance
1. Cleaning
- Exterior: Use a soft, lint-free cloth lightly dampened with water or a mild cleaning solution. Avoid harsh chemicals.
- Vents: Periodically clean dust from the ventilation grilles using compressed air to ensure proper airflow and prevent overheating.
- Before Cleaning: Always power off the desktop and disconnect it from the power outlet.
2. Software Updates
Regularly update your operating system and drivers to ensure optimal performance and security. Windows Update will handle most operating system updates automatically. For Dell-specific drivers, visit the Dell support website.
3. Storage Management
Periodically review and manage your 1TB PCIe SSD storage. Delete unnecessary files, uninstall unused programs, and consider using cloud storage for large files to maintain system performance.
Troubleshooting

1. No Power
- Ensure the power cable is securely connected to both the desktop and the wall outlet.
- Verify the wall outlet is functional by plugging in another device.
- Check the power adapter for any damage.
2. No Display on Monitor
- Confirm the monitor is powered on and its input source is set correctly (e.g., DisplayPort).

- If the system freezes, try pressing Ctrl + Alt + Delete to open Task Manager and end unresponsive tasks.
- If the system remains unresponsive, perform a force shut down by holding the power button for 10 seconds.
