1. Product Overview
This document provides instructions for the THULE Roof Rack System, specifically designed for the Mercedes-Benz EQB model (2022-Present) equipped with raised roof rails. The system includes Foot 7204 and WingBar Edge 7213B bars, forming a complete base carrier solution.
The THULE system is engineered for functionality, safety, and design, offering a secure and aerodynamic platform for transporting gear on your vehicle's roof.
Important Note: This product includes the base carrier (feet and bars) only. Additional accessories such as roof boxes, bike carriers, or ski carriers are sold separately and are not included in this package. Please ensure compatibility between this base carrier and any additional accessories you plan to use.
Instruction Manual Language: THULE products typically include instruction manuals primarily in English with illustrations. A Japanese manual is not provided with this product.
2. Safety Information
- Always read and understand all instructions before installation and use.
- Do not exceed the maximum load capacity specified for your vehicle's roof or the THULE roof rack system, whichever is lower. Refer to your vehicle's owner's manual for roof load limits.
- Ensure all components are securely fastened before driving. Regularly check all bolts, nuts, and straps for tightness, especially during long journeys or after driving on rough roads.
- Distribute the load evenly on the roof rack. Place heavier items at the bottom and center.
- Be aware of the increased vehicle height and width when carrying loads. Exercise caution when entering garages, car washes, or driving under low overhead clearances.
- Adjust driving speed to suit the load and road conditions. Crosswinds and sudden braking can affect vehicle stability.
- Remove the roof rack when not in use to improve fuel efficiency and reduce wind noise.
- Keep keys for the locking system in a safe place.
3. Package Contents

4. Setup (Installation)
The THULE Edge Raised Rail Foot 7204 is designed for vehicles with existing raised roof rails, which have a gap between the roof and the rail. Installation is designed to be quick and straightforward with the included tools.
4.1 Foot Installation (Edge Raised Rail 7204)
- Identify Foot Components: Each Foot 7204 includes a key cylinder for security.
- Position Feet: Place the feet onto your vehicle's raised roof rails according to the measurements provided in the detailed instruction manual (English/illustrations). Ensure even spacing and correct orientation.
- Secure Feet: Use the included tool to tighten the fastening mechanism of each foot onto the roof rail. Tighten until secure, but do not overtighten.
- Lock Feet: Insert the keys and lock each foot to prevent theft. Remove the keys.

4.2 WingBar Edge Installation (7213B)
The WingBar Edge 7213B bars are designed to integrate seamlessly with the Foot 7204, ensuring no bar overhang for a sleek appearance and reduced wind noise.
- Attach Bars to Feet: Slide the WingBar Edge bars into the designated slots on the Foot 7204 units. Ensure the bars are centered and extend equally on both sides.
- Secure Bars: Tighten the securing mechanisms within the feet to firmly attach the bars. Refer to the detailed manual for specific torque settings if provided.
- Final Check: Gently pull on the bars and feet to ensure all components are securely fastened and there is no movement.

5. Operating (Usage)
The THULE WingBar Edge is designed for optimal performance and ease of use when carrying various accessories.
5.1 Aerodynamic Features
- Wind Diffuser: The unique rubber insert on the bar disperses airflow, significantly reducing wind noise during travel.
- Trail Edge: The distinctive aerodynamic profile of the bar minimizes air resistance, contributing to better fuel efficiency and a quieter ride.

5.2 Accessory Attachment
- T-Track System: The WingBar Edge features a T-track for smooth and easy attachment and detachment of various THULE accessories. The rubber strip covering the T-track is split lengthwise, allowing T-bolts to be inserted without needing to cut the rubber, unlike traditional designs.
- Load Capacity: Always adhere to the maximum load capacity of the roof rack system and your vehicle.
6. Maintenance
- Regular Checks: Periodically inspect all mounting points, bolts, and straps for tightness and wear. This is especially important before and after each use, and during long trips.
- Cleaning: Clean the roof rack components with mild soap and water. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners that could damage the finish or rubber parts.
- Lubrication: If any moving parts or locks become stiff, apply a small amount of silicone-based lubricant.
- Storage: If the roof rack is not used for extended periods, consider removing it from the vehicle and storing it in a dry, protected area to prolong its lifespan.
7. Troubleshooting
- Excessive Wind Noise: Ensure all components are correctly installed and tightened. Verify that the rubber strips in the T-track are properly seated. If using accessories, ensure they are securely mounted and positioned to minimize drag.
- Loose Fit: Re-check all fastening bolts and mechanisms. Ensure the feet are correctly seated on the vehicle's roof rails. Refer to the installation instructions for proper tightening procedures.
- Difficulty Locking/Unlocking: Ensure the key cylinder is clean and free of debris. Apply a small amount of graphite lubricant if the lock is stiff. Do not force the key.
- Water Leakage: While the roof rack itself does not typically cause leaks, ensure that the vehicle's roof rails and surrounding areas are in good condition and that no existing seals are compromised during installation.
