2.3 Powering the Device

The RX2 can be powered directly via the USB 2.0 connection from your computer. For additional power stability, especially when using 48V phantom power or multiple high-draw devices, you can use the 5VDC Type-C power input.

  1. Connect the USB 2.0 cable to your computer as described above. This typically provides sufficient power.
  2. If additional power is required, connect a standard 5VDC Type-C power adapter (not included) to the "5VDC" port on the rear of the unit.

3.1 Input Connections and Gain Control

The RX2 features two combo XLR/TRS inputs (Input 1 and Input 2) for connecting microphones, guitars, or other line-level instruments. Each input has independent gain control and indicators for signal presence (SIG) and overload (PK).

  • Microphones: Connect XLR microphones to either Input 1 or Input 2. For condenser microphones requiring power, activate the 48V Phantom Power button.
  • Instruments: Connect guitars or basses directly to Input 1 or Input 2 using a 1/4-inch TS cable. The high-headroom instrument input prevents distortion.
  • Gain Knobs: Adjust the "GAIN 1" and "GAIN 2" knobs to set the input level for each channel. The "SIG" light indicates signal presence, and the "PK" light indicates an approaching overload, requiring gain reduction.

3.2 Monitoring and Output

The RX2 provides flexible monitoring options, allowing you to hear your input signals and playback simultaneously.

  • Headphone Output: Connect headphones to the 6.35mm or 3.5mm headphone jack on the front panel. Use the "PHONES" knob to adjust the headphone volume independently.
  • Direct Monitoring: The "MON" button enables direct monitoring, allowing you to hear your input signals with zero latency, mixed with the playback from your computer.
  • Main Outputs: Use the two independent 1/4-inch TRS stereo output jacks on the rear panel to connect to active speakers, power amplifiers, or other recording equipment. Adjust the "OUT" knob for main output volume control.
