5. Setup Guide

Follow these steps to set up your AMPAI Smart Plug.

5.1. Network Requirements

  • The smart plug requires a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network for operation. It is not compatible with 5GHz networks.
  • Ensure your Wi-Fi router is broadcasting a 2.4GHz signal.
  • No separate hub is required for basic operation.

5.2. Initial Pairing

  1. Plug the AMPAI Smart Plug into a wall outlet.
  2. The indicator light on the plug will begin to flash, indicating it is in pairing mode.
  3. Download the AMPAI App from your smartphone's app store (iOS/Android). For Google Home integration, you may also need the Aimore App as specified in product details.
  4. Open the AMPAI App and follow the on-screen instructions to add a new device. This typically involves scanning a QR code or selecting the device from a list.
  5. Enter your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network credentials when prompted.
  6. Once connected, the indicator light will become solid, and the device will appear in your app.

5.3. Apple HomeKit Setup

The AMPAI Smart Plug is compatible with Apple HomeKit. No additional app download is required for HomeKit functionality, but a HomeKit hub is necessary for remote control.

  • To enable remote control via HomeKit, you need an Apple device such as a HomePod, HomePod mini, Apple TV, or iPad set up as a home hub.
  • Open the Apple Home app on your iOS device.
  • Tap the '+' icon to add an accessory.
  • Scan the HomeKit setup code located on the smart plug or its packaging.
  • Follow the prompts to assign the plug to a room and give it a name.

6. Operating Instructions

8. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your AMPAI Smart Plug, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

8.1. Plug Not Connecting to Wi-Fi / Frequent Disconnections

  • Check Wi-Fi Band: Ensure your router is broadcasting a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi signal and your phone is connected to it during setup. The smart plug does not support 5GHz networks.
  • Signal Strength: The smart plug may be too far from your Wi-Fi router. Try moving the plug closer to the router or consider a Wi-Fi extender.
  • Router Settings: Some routers may have advanced settings (e.g., DHCP lease time, channel interference) that can affect smart device connectivity. Consult your router's manual or ISP for assistance.

  • Internet Connection: Verify your smartphone has an active internet connection.
