4.3. Initializing Disk (for new SSDs)
For new SSDs, you may need to initialize and format them before use:
- Right-click "This PC" (or "My Computer") and select "Manage".
- In the Computer Management window, navigate to "Disk Management".
- Locate your new SSD, right-click it, and select "Initialize Disk". Choose MBR for disks smaller than 2TB (Windows XP compatible) or GPT for disks larger than 2TB.
- After initialization, right-click the unallocated space on the new SSD and select "New Simple Volume" to create a partition and format the drive.
5. Operating Modes
5.1. Read/Write Mode (Docking Station Functionality)
When connected to a computer, the docking station functions as an external drive enclosure, allowing you to read and write data to your M.2 NVMe SSDs. Ensure the Copy/JBOD switch on the rear is set to the 'JBOD' position for this mode.
5.2. Offline Clone Function
The one-key offline clone function allows you to duplicate an SSD without connecting to a computer.
- Insert the Source SSD (the drive you want to copy from) into the 'Source' slot.
- Insert the Target SSD (the drive you want to copy to) into the 'Target' slot. Important: The capacity of the Target SSD must be equal to or larger than the Source SSD.
- Ensure the docking station is disconnected from any computer.
- Connect the power supply and turn on the docking station.
- Set the Copy/JBOD switch on the rear to the 'Copy' position.
- Press and hold the 'Clone' button for 5-8 seconds until the LED indicators start to flash.
- The LED indicators (25%, 50%, 75%, 100%) will illuminate sequentially to show the cloning progress. All lights will stay on when the cloning process is complete.

7. Features
- Tool-Free Installation: Easy insertion and removal of M.2 SSDs without tools.
- Vertical Heat Dissipation: Designed to help reduce heat buildup during operation, especially during large data transfers.
- No-Slip Pad: Silicone pad on the bottom ensures stability and prevents movement.
- LED Indicators: Clear LED lights indicate M.2 NVMe work status and cloning progress.
8. Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your MAIWO Dual Bay M.2 NVMe Docking Station:
- Keep the device clean and free from dust. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning.
- Avoid exposing the device to extreme temperatures or humidity.
- Handle SSDs carefully during insertion and removal to prevent damage to the connectors.
- Ensure proper ventilation, especially during extended use or large data transfers, to aid in heat dissipation.
9. Troubleshooting
- Device not recognized by computer: Ensure all cables (power and data) are securely connected. Try a different USB port on your computer. For new SSDs, ensure they are initialized and formatted via Disk Management.
- Offline cloning fails or disconnects: Verify that the Target SSD's capacity is equal to or larger than the Source SSD. Ensure the Copy/JBOD switch is correctly set to 'Copy'. For high-performance or large-capacity SSDs, ensure the DC power supply is used to provide sufficient power.
- Slow transfer speeds: Ensure you are using a USB 3.1 Gen 2 compatible port on your computer. Check that the cables are not damaged.
- Overheating during operation: The device has vertical heat dissipation. Ensure it is placed in a well-ventilated area. For prolonged heavy use, external cooling (e.g., a small fan) may be beneficial.
