4. Setup

4.1 Unpacking

Carefully remove the radio and all accessories from the packaging. Ensure all components listed in the product description are present, including the USB-C cable and carabiner.

4.2 Initial Charge

Before first use, it is recommended to fully charge the radio using the USB-C cable. Connect the USB-C cable to the radio's charging port and plug the other end into a standard USB power adapter (not included) or a computer USB port. The charging indicator on the display will show charging status.

Your DF-588D radio supports three charging methods:

• USB-C Charging: For fastest and most efficient charging.
• Solar Panel Charging: Extend the solar panel and place the radio in direct sunlight. This method is primarily for maintaining charge or slow charging in emergencies.
• Hand Crank Charging: Rotate the hand crank clockwise or counter-clockwise at a steady pace (approx. 130-150 RPM) to generate power. This is an emergency charging method.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Power On/Off

Press and hold the Power button () for 2-3 seconds to turn the radio on or off. The LCD display will illuminate.

5.2 Radio Operation (DAB+/FM)

Extend the telescopic antenna for optimal reception.

• Switching Modes: Press the Mode button (often labeled 'M' or a gear icon) to switch between DAB+ and FM modes.
• Automatic Station Search: In DAB+ or FM mode, press the Scan button (often labeled with a magnifying glass or play/pause icon) to initiate an automatic search for available stations. The radio will scan and save stations automatically.
• Manual Tuning: Use the Up/Down arrow buttons to manually tune to frequencies or navigate through available stations.
• Saving/Recalling Presets: To save a station, tune to the desired station, then press and hold the Preset button (often a star icon) until the display prompts you to save. Use the arrow buttons to select a preset number, then press OK to confirm. To recall a saved station, short press the Preset button and use arrow keys to select.

5.3 Bluetooth Speaker Function

The radio can function as a powerful Bluetooth speaker.

1. Turn on the radio.
2. Press the Mode button until "Bluetooth" or "BT" appears on the display. The radio will enter pairing mode.
3. On your mobile device (smartphone, tablet, laptop), enable Bluetooth and search for "DF-588D" or "Libovgogo".
4. Select the device to pair. Once connected, you will hear a confirmation sound, and you can play audio through the radio's speakers.

5.4 Power Bank Function

• Flashlight: Press the Flashlight button (often a lightbulb icon) once to turn on the super bright flashlight.
• Strobe Light: Press the Flashlight button again to activate the strobe light.
• Reading Light: Fold out the 12-LED reading light panel. Press the Reading Light button (if separate, or cycle through flashlight modes) to turn it on. It may offer different light colors (e.g., warm, cool, neutral).
• SOS Alarm: Press the SOS button (often labeled 'SOS') to activate the loud alarm siren and flashing red/blue lights. Press again to deactivate.
