3.2. Bootloader and Firmware

The mainboard comes with the bootloader pre-installed and firmware programmed. The serial number is provided on a label inside the product packaging.

The serial number will not be displayed on the OLED screen as the bootloader is already finished.

If the serial number sticker is lost, you can enter eighteen '0' digits (000000000000000000) during programming to retrieve the original serial number.

3.3. Programming Your Call Sign or Reprogramming Firmware

To program your call sign or upgrade/reprogram the firmware, follow these steps:

  1. Download Firmware: Obtain the latest firmware from DL2MAN's official page.
  2. Serial Number: Enter the serial number (found in the package) to download the firmware.
  3. Install Drivers and Software:
    • Install the USB Driver for the CH340.
    • Install AVR-Dudess software. If installation issues occur, try another computer.
  4. Connect Device: Restart your computer. Connect the mainboard to your computer using a USB cable. A "ding-dong" sound indicates successful CH340 driver installation. If no sound, ensure the USB cable supports data transmission; try a different cable if necessary.
  5. Program Firmware: Open AVR-Dudess software. Configure the software as instructed in the package (refer to the circled positions in the provided images, if available). The assigned COM-Port will be visible in Windows Device Manager.

3.4. Reset Function

To perform a reset:

  1. Hold down the encoder button without releasing it.
  2. While holding the encoder, turn on the power.
  3. Once "restart" is displayed on the OLED, release the encoder button.
