Important Note: If your factory car stereo configuration matches the "Not applicable" examples shown in Figure 4.1, this car radio will not fit your vehicle. Ensure your vehicle has an AUX port for proper audio integration.

5. Installation Instructions

Installation requires careful attention to wiring. It is recommended to consult a professional if you are unsure about any steps. Refer to the wiring diagrams provided.

5.1 Pre-Installation Check

  • Ensure the vehicle's ignition is off and the battery is disconnected before starting.
  • Confirm your Honda Accord model year (2008-2013) and dashboard type are compatible.
  • Identify the location of your vehicle's AUX port.

5.2 Wiring Connections

The system uses a plug-and-play cable for basic connections. Pay close attention to the audio input for the AUX system.

5.3 AUX Audio Connection

Audio output from the new stereo integrates with the vehicle's existing sound system via the AUX input. This is crucial for sound functionality.

It illustrates connecting the RCA cable to the back of the car radio and then to the AUX adapter, which plugs into the car's armrest box AUX interface. An alternative connection using a small screen extension cable is also shown if no AUX port is present.

Figure 5.2: AUX Connection Details

  • If your car has an AUX interface in the armrest box: Connect the provided AUX adapter to the RCA output of the stereo and plug it into the car's AUX port.
  • If your car does not have an AUX port: Use the small screen extension cable (1) and connect it to the RCA red and white cables. This may require routing the cable to an accessible location.
  • No Sound Issue: If there is no sound after installation, verify the AUX connection. The wiring might be incorrect or the vehicle's original stereo needs to be set to AUX mode.

5.4 Steering Wheel Control (SWC) Connection

The SWC cable is a separate harness. Ensure it is connected. After installation, you will need to configure the SWC settings in the stereo's menu. The default password for SWC settings is 8888.
