1. Important Safety Instructions

3. Components

The Necchi NS2668 consists of a steam iron and a separate boiler unit. Key components include the ceramic-coated soleplate, cork handle, water tank, safety cap, and control buttons.

4. Setup and First Use

1. Unpacking: Carefully remove all packaging materials and ensure all components are present.
2. Positioning: Place the boiler unit on a stable, heat-resistant surface. Ensure there is enough space for the iron and its cord.
3. Filling the Boiler: Unscrew the safety cap (ensure the unit is cold and unplugged). Fill the boiler with up to 700 ml of distilled or demineralized water using a measuring cup. Do not overfill. Securely close the safety cap.
4. Power Connection: Plug the power cord into a grounded electrical outlet.
5. Initial Heating: Press the boiler power button. The notification light will illuminate. Wait approximately 5 minutes for the steam to be ready.
6. First Ironing: For the first use, iron an old piece of fabric to remove any manufacturing residues from the soleplate.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Filling the Boiler

Ensure the appliance is unplugged and cool before attempting to refill. Unscrew the safety cap and fill with distilled water. Replace the cap securely.

5.2. Powering On

Plug the unit into a suitable power outlet. Press the separate power buttons for the iron and the boiler. The indicator lights will show when they are active.

5.3. Temperature Adjustment

Use the temperature dial on the iron to select the appropriate heat setting for your fabric type. Refer to the fabric care labels for guidance. Allow the iron to reach the desired temperature before use.

5.4. Steam Function

Once the boiler is heated (notification light on), press the steam button on the iron handle to release steam. For continuous steam, activate the continuous steam button if available. Release the button to stop steaming.

5.5. Vertical Steam

The vertical steam function allows you to steam hanging garments or drapes. Hold the iron vertically, close to the fabric, and press the steam button. Ensure the iron is hot enough to produce steam effectively.

6. Maintenance and Cleaning

6.1. Cleaning the Soleplate

Allow the iron to cool completely. Wipe the soleplate with a damp cloth and a mild, non-abrasive cleaner if necessary. Do not use abrasive pads or harsh chemicals that could damage the ceramic coating.

6.2. Descaling the Boiler

Regular descaling is crucial to maintain performance. Depending on water hardness and usage, descale every 1-3 months. Consult a specialized descaling solution for steam irons and follow its instructions. Always ensure the unit is cold and unplugged before descaling.

6.3. Storage

After use, unplug the iron and allow it to cool down completely. Empty any remaining water from the boiler. Store the iron and boiler unit in a dry, safe place, away from children.
