The sensor consists of two main parts: the main unit (larger part with the indicator light and battery compartment) and the magnetic strip (smaller part). When these two parts are separated, the sensor detects an 'open' state; when they are close together, it detects a 'closed' state.

5. Setup

5.1 Battery Installation

  1. Gently slide open the back cover of the main sensor unit.
  2. Insert two AA batteries into the battery compartment, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  3. Close the back cover securely.

5.2 App Installation

  1. Download the 'Smart Life' app from Google Play Store (for Android) or Apple App Store (for iOS).
  2. Register for a new account or log in if you already have one.

5.3 Pairing with App

  1. Ensure your smartphone is connected to a 2.4GHz WiFi network. The sensor does not support 5GHz WiFi.
  2. Open the Smart Life app.
  3. Tap '+' in the top right corner to add a device.
  4. Select 'Security & Video Surveillance' then 'Door/Window Sensor (Wi-Fi)'.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to put the sensor into pairing mode (usually involves pressing and holding a button on the sensor until the indicator light blinks rapidly).
  6. Confirm the indicator is blinking rapidly in the app and enter your WiFi password.
  7. The app will search for and connect to the device. Once connected, you can rename the sensor.

  1. Choose a clean, dry, and flat surface on your door/window frame and the moving part of the door/window.
  2. Attach the 3M adhesive pads to the back of both the main unit and the magnetic strip.
  3. Mount the main unit on the fixed frame and the magnetic strip on the moving part of the door/window.
  4. Ensure the two components are aligned with the arrows pointing towards each other.
  5. The distance between the two components should be as close as possible when the door/window is closed, ideally within 1 cm (0.4 inches), and should not exceed 2 cm (0.8 inches) to ensure proper detection.
